Yeah, it's pretty common in kids, when they have an attractive and nice teacher, to develop a crush on them. And in my headcanon, the Director thinks Alf is really a nice guy; Alf really appreciates that.

I also prefer the Principal over the Teacher; I imagine he's a good teacher dissposed to hear the kids and their problems (after all, he's used to receive them in his offcie). Maybe for that I think he has discovered something good into Alf, and, I'm sure, also into Sacha, Dino and Big Wolf.
