Yikes! If I remember correctly, Isaac Asimov penned a short story about "Alien" neighbors that moved into a quiet section of suburbia, and consumed cotton candy in "Mass quantities." They got caught in the rain with disastrous results.

I think anyone consuming mass quantities of cotton candy in any weather is a recipe for disaster! I'm not familiar with the story you mentioned, but I have read a little bit of Asimov even though I mainly know him from TV and film adaptations. I especially liked The Outer Limits episodes (both the original series and the 90s reboot) of "I, Robot." As for the film version starring Will Smith...well, I guess it had its moments!

You think so? I don't think it's as bad as that! I don't have any stories or character bios written down, but I do give a little thought to some of these characters backstories and relationships with one another. Fer example: This one here is generally regarded as a sweet person and nice to be around but most people have an aversion to touching her, for reasons that should be obvious :V So far I'm thinking she's got a fairly firm uh, "skin" that feels sticky rather than goopy. In other words you wouldn't take hold of her arm and end up with a handful of glob, neither does she necessarily leave a slime trail everywhere she walks. You know, it's pretty much that I want her to be just a little bit gross yet not altogether off-putting!

Correction indeed: there is something tragic in that picture - not necessarily figure! At least for somebody like me who doesn't have all the details you just mentioned
