During the later years of the 1800s America did her best to tame her worst excesses. What was once a wild wasteland was becoming the new west. This didn't come without a cost though. Outlaws, bandits, and gangs held out as long as they could. Their numbers were slowly getting chipped away at by federal troops, but not fast enough to make the losses worthwhile. Soon the government turned to a different method, one that allowed them to wash any blood from their hands.

When the contracts rolled in Akrilaners came by the hundreds to make their fortune. The martial society of their island leaving them well equipped to the task of hunting and killing. Many came equipped and ready for war, others went native, whatever the case they were highly effective. Dozens of bandit possies would be gunned down. Gangs rounded up and handed off to the feds. The common outlaws always chose a fight over a noose, and many of them would get it without hesitation. Where another American may have sympathy or perhaps even a bit of kinship with them, the Akrilaners only saw the outlaws as good business.
