Well, so the alien is trying to teach them a lesson for what he things is spying on him, when it is already turned around on him, the writing is really good because of how much it's dragging us in. Trauma is painful yes but the thing is from what it looks like everyone is seeing what is going on in each other's memories. Their perspectives this opens up soooooo much for how they feel about each other.
