Time to learn how to fence?
Also love the determination and iron will of Kess, say what you want about him, he's an admirably stalwart fella! Even being in the wrong body, dealing with dysphoria of the most intense kind, he's still fighting and pushing himself to not just give up and let the world define his identity for him.

I'm not sure if that would work as there is a limit to how thin you can make a blade and have it be effective. Normal foils are already stretching the limits, so any smaller and you'd probably risk it just causing abrasions unless you stabbed straight through the center of the neck. They're also useless if damaged
That last one was just a joke heh. I mean, I don't know, but I'm guessing it does not. Even though it this world seem to have some strange artifacts that feel magical, it seemed more like chemistry than magic, and we haven't gotten across any mages so far, so it's highly probable that this world doesn't have magic.
Glad she's not just giving in and feeling sorry for herself in the end...
I know how this feels. My health conditions hit very sudden and have made most of what I could do just a memory...
There are always options. You have to find them.
Though I have this bad feeling the next scene is her with a bag of clams.

Two words~ Chun Li !!
You might not have the ARM strength you once had as a human male, Kass, but even as a smol femmy Yinglet, you still posses some decent muscle!
While the other girls of Vizlet’s enclave may dance and prance about on strong legs for entertainment and attracting Patriarch attention, YOU might put yours to use in ways you are more familiar.
Have you considered wielding two smaller mace or flail in your feet-hands instead, and dance and prance about and CHUN LI - kick the crap out of bad guys with?
Just a thought. :D
Also go get ‘em, Kass!!!

I think she's got a distinct advantage with her mind and mental capacity as well as the perspective she's gained from once being human. She should concentrate on those things. She also has a pretty solid group of friends.
Couldn't hurt to bone up on the stabby skills, though, especially as personal protection.

The martial weapon best suited for Kass's current body is probably the Atlatl.
Yinglets appear to have strong core muscles, so while he can't use heavy spears he could definitely get a lighter spear going fast enough to do some serious damage.
Combine that with the higher degree of accuracy he's demonstrated in this form and the high mobility of yinglets, and he could be a serious threat even to armored targets in the role of ranged support.

Question:
Something just occured to me. In frame 3 we see Kass holding her forearm. In humans, we have a single arm bone above the elbow, the Humerus, then in our forearms we have two parallel bones, the Ulna and the Radius. This is what gives us the ability to make a rotating motion with our hands. If you look at your forearm and rotate your 'wrist' you'll notice the motion is actually produced along the forearm between wrist and elbow, with these two bones acting kind of like chopsticks to give us the ability to make this motion.
Yinglet forearms seem far too slim to accomodate two bones like this, they would have to be extremely thin, maybe only a few millimeters accross and would break far too easily.
Would I be right to think that they only have 1 bone in thier forearm? If so then any rotation would have to be done at the shoulder, which would be a little more awkward but very believable in a species like this.
Sorry, it's late here, I think of things like this when I'm tired.

Imagine if he had turned into a Baxxid and could swing ten of those around all over the place and just be a whirling dervish of clobbersome destructification! But also be considered the absolute gosh darn weirdest Baxxid around for enjoying to do so. ^^;
Just gotta find her some artifact tech and/or magic. >:3 The moment a method of turning enemies into oysters is discovered the world will bow before their new Yinglet Overladies! >:D
Funniest part I think is once she realizes the 'clout' she has among Yinglets the matter of defense and offense will be at least partly handled. Could probably round up a few dozen of the random males around the city and just tell them. "I'm your Matriarch now, protect me and follow all my orders and you'll get clams!" And they would all just nod excitedly without hesitation.

There are those that would buckle after ll this. Lose hope, sit in squalor and simply allow the world to devour them.
Kas here has a strong will, but then again we've seen that.
From Knight in shinning armor to Damsel in shining armor really, just needs to use what they do have rather then focusing on what they don't.
Smaller, faster, and suited to plunging weapons? Tail mounted blade or swigging ball (honor the lost in spirit) and some punch daggers.

You cant define a real man from their muscles but a real man or woman has the guts to be honest and have an open heart and be nice. Its what's inside. Your will and spirit. How that develops that matters. You can be the weakest ever yet still be the most looked up to even if your smaller than those around you.
Hi y'all! I'm back again to remind you that there's a place called "Top Web Comics" https://www.topwebcomics.com/?home=3 that compiles comics from various places. There's a bunch of cool stuff there. They have monthly votes, so you can support OOPs there. You can vote once a day per device, so your PC, laptop, tablet, phone, etc.
I've noticed that you can sometimes even get in extra votes from different IP addresses, or if you're disconnected from your IP and open up again later.
Oops has been slowly climbing in the ranks, and closed out last month at 45th place and about 1065 votes. It's currently at 697 votes and 57th place. The top vote getters seem to end up with something close to 20,000 votes.
Vote early, vote often! Help OOPs get noticed!

Kass is THE BEST AROUND!
Remember when I used to respond with a deep and thoughtout response of what I think of what is and what will happen? I guess I don't have it in me anymore; I'm not as strong as Kass.

I have a feeling the only weapon that might suit Kass atm is a crossbow or something with a mechanical component to make up for Kass' lack of arm strength but have enough killing power to kill something bigger than they are.
It would certainly play into Kass' strengths as a yinglet being a smaller target, bigger FoV than a human, and probably good agility and climbing to higher vantage points tho the latter two would take time as Kass' tends to waste a lot of energy actively trying to not walk on all fours or anything else "yinglet"-like.

Get that rat-bird lass-who-was-lad a spear. Time for Kassie's Final Fantasy dragoon job training... Granted, they lose some of the impact coming down that heavier dragoon characters have when plunging from heights with their spears, there's always the jack-in-the-box maneuver if you can jump well. U
Quicker than I expected actualy. Kass is excepting that shes not got the physical abilitys that she had as a human male. Now I expect her to start looking for something she can learn to use to protect herself. *chuckles* Scary thing is, if shes smart, we might actualy end up seeing her doing spear dancing, and teaching her fellow yinglets to be better with them by the doing. She might also find an atlatl would work good for her, the way the arms are shaped, if she can move in the right manor, could be quite efective. ALso, she might want to consider trying a meteor hammer, rather than a ball mace. A smaller metal ball on a chain, used in part as a thrown weapon, and as close combat. She allready has the learning to keep the ball moving, and to control it.
I was trying to figure out if something happened to Kassen. Just from the dialogue I was thinking... "Did Kass get kidnapped? Is she trapped here? What's going on?" I thought I missed a comic so I searched backwards and realized we haven't seen Kassen the main character in a loooong time, not since #161 posted 13 months ago. It's been awhile!
What can be done to fix this?
Time to ask for the great patriarch of hunting's time for self defense training. He seems handy with knives, and Kass can command a variety of things custom made. Scouts probably would be greater warriors for humans, but .. nnnnever trust a narc. Let. He might get all sexist on ya.
I would recommend tail braided full of razorblades and poisoned spears, but then again seeing how clumsy Kass is right now, that may not be the best to start with casually.

As much as some people may be rooting for kass to adapt to woman hood, I really do hope that they find some way to exercise their masculinity in a manner that helps them feel more comfortable in their new identity
either way; I'm happy that you didn't write them as mindlessly accepting of whatever gender they biologically express and are considerate of the harm that would naturally come from being in a body you aren't comfortable with

I'm just gonna say that, as a veteran, I can relate to this feeling. I was in the Marines and, at one point and time, I felt godlike with my stamina and the stuff I proved I could do. Then I go out and I got fat. When you think about what you were and look at yourself after you've changed...it takes that moment of "Well, feeling sorry for myself ain't gonna help. Get to training." to really turn those less-than-pleasant thoughts away.
So, I can relate and this particular comic really spoke to me. Thank you for the comic you do and the wonderful work you do with these characters. I genuinely enjoy reading your work.
