August and Erika's apartment actually overlooks the northern gravlift on Araltys - the rather disctinct and looming landmark on the poles of the large Araltian homeworlds. They are basically giant anti gravity thrusters which accelerate Araltians into space.

Araltys' gravity is too strong for them to escape under normal means. Their gravlets (the anklet / bracelets they wear for flying) allow them to fly about in space, but for the bigger planets they need a bit of additional help to escape it's gravity at a reasonable speed!
August is a professional and she follows all the correct procedures when interacting with alien races.
There's a bunch of paperwork and assessments involved and the planet's populous is informed and notified prior to her showing up. However, no amount of preparation can really prepare a species for the arrival of an Araltian.
But when she's there for a short time, making repairs to your planet or ecosystem on a planetary scale, or even crafting a new planet or terraforming a neighbouring world while completely filling your sky, it's pretty hard for alien races NOT to think of her as some kind of Goddess, despite any claims otherwise.
