I was experimenting with different kinds of compositions recently and decided to use one of my sketches as a YCH.
The main thing here is the composition. Everything else — lighting, colors, even poses to certain degree — can be easily changed. A sky/cloud theme in the sketch is just for a showcase as well.
Here are the key figures:
⚝ Human/humanoid form — realistic portrait in the foreground.
⚝ Three stages of transformation — look like sketchy/stylized silhouettes.
⚝ Feral form — magical, whimsical figure emerging from surrounding matter.
But I'd like to adjust this artwork to the character, depicting as much individuality as possible.
Since this whole scene is quite surreal, I think it is totally fine to add more objects and patterns everywhere. Anything that makes sense for the character.
Just a few thoughts about the aesthetics:
⚝ More cloud theme ideas: sunset; midday; nighttime with full moon; thunderstorm; rainbow over a rainy cloud...
⚝ Some other ideas: flowers, flames, smoke, water, goop, rocks, magical *anything*, glowing substances, sandstorm, insect swarm, school of fish, ropes/thread...
Though it is much easier to come up with ideas having a specific character in mind.
