Species Meme - Pt. 2 - Inks
This is part of my art for the species meme: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2386983/ (extended version). While the inks are in different files, the completed piece will most likely just be put up as one file (possibly multiple files, although in that case they will be put in scraps).
I figured that since Med-Night is a shapeshifter, I had to take advantage of this meme. ^_^ Although I also wanted to pick a few more unusual animals as well as just some of my general favorites.
On top we have the caniform category, river otter. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a good reference for that pose so it's a little weird. Oh well. It was interesting to find a non-canine for caniform. I always draw dogs so I wanted to draw something different. I was sooo happy to see that sea otters count. :D
On the farthest left we have one of my favorites, the ungulate category's dikdik. Oh my gosh, if you have never seen a dikdik go look them up. So adorably cute! I enjoyed drawing her. Except she doesn't really have much of a tail, which was weird. >_<
Next to her is the microorganism category. That was a hard one. So, I just went with general bacteriophage. It's the only one with a well known classic shape. Unfortunately, her markings do not show up in the black and white version. They should be more apparent when it's colored.
On the middle right we have the arthropod category, horseshoe crab. Horseshoe crabs are a ton of fun to play with, by the way. I use to play with them once in a while when I was young. So I had to draw one since they are awesome.
And then at the bottom right is the bird category, a duckling. This is probably the second cutest, in my opinion. And actually more fun than I was expecting to draw. For someone who doesn't really draw birds much, it turned out pretty well.
