I'm not sure that is Sledar's skull. His crest he wore was a pure diamond shape, and the one in this page is a hexagon. I think it belonged to another Avian Guardian (Sledar is/was a minor god, after all), given the other skulls memorialized as part of that pillar.
I could be wrong, I just don't think that skull belonged to Sledar, until confirmed in story.

In some panels it's simplified, but in others you can see that it has a flat top segment, so it's like an elongated pentagon. It doesn't seem to be consistent, and the simplest answer to this is that it's him, rather than another, completely new bird character who also has a near-identical gem and earrings, and who apparently means a lot to the other gods. It would genuinely be really bizarre for Zummeng to reference someone else who has all of those traits in common rather than it just being him.
