Fabulator Vulpus
No, it's not the Cadmean vixen; it's
vixyyfox, taking a break from exploring yet another fantastic land to share a tale from her many travels with us!
In Oklahoma City a few weeks back, I stopped by the local museum and saw a great little exhibit on 18th century Venetian art where an entire gallery was dedicated to these sorts of Baroque inks of ruined classical landscapes. Despite their tiny size, it felt like each portrayed a whole wide world rich with history and mythology.
Something clicked in my head, and I thought, "That's what Vixyy does!" She has a real gift for storytelling, with the ability to make not only characters but an entire environment come alive. Perhaps it's because, as she will tell you, these places are very real... in one's imagination ;) So there you go: a snapshot of one more visit in her distant journeys (and I tried to use the most flattering camera angle I could, Ms. V!).
If you're interested in checking out some of her work, any of the Thursday prompts make for nice short reads. As for short stories:
fans might enjoy this: The Belmont Pisser
A tale of wartime fighter jockeys, with a Twilight Zone twist! It's a must-read for any fan of aviation, plus keep an eye out for Maude, soon to be released!
fans might enjoy this: Wiggles
When furs and rednecks collide, one man gets caught in the crossfire :3 There's no explicit transformation scene in here, but it's definitely on-theme, plus it's a great read!
-Thanks to
mikakitty for talking me into trying cross-hatching - I think I might have gotten carried away, though (augh, so many lines :S).
-No thanks to the people of ancient Corinth >:l Your column capitals are mankind's version of pinecones, as far as the artist is concerned.
-And many thanks again to
vixyyfox for letting us join you on your travels! :D

OMG, a new submission? How did this happen? I shouldn't use the nuke button that often... D:
This is quite impressive! I love how much detail you put into it. Te beautiful Corinthian -column- capital, the weed scattered all over the scene, the ruins, the vixen's fluffy tail, the little guy's blatant joy...
btw, ever since i was a kid i've wanted one of those huge old books ;)

Yes, the rare 'new submission' in its native habitat! Thank you sir, I take pride in trying to portray as much detail as I can get away with :D Sure does take a while though!
Quiero ese tipo de libro tambien, pero dudo que lo leyere en mi regazo - es demasiado pesado!
