After sketching my Vulprime species my mind immediately thought back on the Kozaru race that I abandoned. I did like the idea, in concept, so I thought about redrawing them. I used a previous sketch of a character I did before: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/36862480/ I also went ahead and revamp their details and descriptions to something that makes more sense.

Kozaru was an idea I had about the Saiyans transforming into primates that differs from Oozaru (great ape form) and even Super Saiyan 4. They are in a permanent monkey form that reflects the great ape but much smaller in size, almost similar to human height though a little taller. Their eyes have a pupil and their sclera is blue as oppose to being red. Their head fur is more like hair and they can put on regular clothing, although it would still need to be made from stretched materials like that of the battle armor. Outside of the physical appearance, Kozaru is seen as an inferior form of the saiyans and even attaining this form is looked down upon simply due to the fact that it doesn't have the destructive power/strength that great apes usually has. Not to mention that once this form is achieved, they can no longer revert to their human-esque form. In exchange of this, their ki is much more abundant and easier to control, and are used in more creative ways such as manipulating Ki to create weapons or augment their physical strength and abilities. They can even manipulate the elements around themselves and can feel all living things and their emotions.

In terms of transformations AKA Super Saiyan, they can enter Golden Great Ape form (almost similarly to Great Ape Baby Vegeta). They are unable to enter the second, third and fourth stage. In terms of the Super Saiyan God forms, only Red can be achieved in a similar fashion as with Goku. But blue and even Rose are unobtainable even with years of training. However, there is a form thats exclusive to a Kozaru: Violet Cross Kozaru. In this form, their fur becomes purple while their sclera is orange, almost a golden color. It is somewhat on par with Super Saiyan 4 in terms of strength and speed but their abilities are far more defensive than offensive, such as creating large energy shields and even healing others along with regenerative healing. They can still access their manipulation of Ki and elements.

Story wise, after the destruction of Planet Vegeta a small group of Saiyans escape to another planet to hide from Frieza's army. Along with this they felt great shame and regret, hurting others for their own benefit and sought to rid themselves of their Saiyan pride. As a result, they used the forbidden technique (don't ask me how, I'll still need to figure that out) to transform into Kozaru and live their lives on the unknown planet, forming a small colony and earning the trust of friendly alien races there.

So my two Kozaru OCs are Nokkio (left) and Kuba (right), two best friends who left their homeworld to explore other places in the universe. Kuba is a bit of an outcast due to the fact that his eyes and behavior are that of the horrific Oozaru and are told by others to stay away from him. Because of this, he has a hard time talking with others and keeps his distance. Nokkio, or Nok, is a carefree, flexible guy who finds enjoyment even in the most unfortunate situations. Both of these guys met when they were little and Nok accepted Kuba into his life with no hesitation, often confiding with him in a way that he couldn't with anyone else. The two decided to form a blood brotherhood as they already had a Kinship with each other.

Fun fact: Nokkio is an anagram of Kinoko, which is japanese for Mushroom. The same is for Kuba, being an anagram of Kabu which is japanese for Turnip.
