Been waiting for two years to announce this, but I have TWO short stories in "Uncle Aberrant's Compendium of Cosmic Delights" published by Aberrant Literature at https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BGJYVHV8
I'm really excited about this collection of silly, strange, and downright scary cosmic horror stories. And as per usual, I must do artwork (or is it fanart?) for it! One of the shorts of mine isn't really drawable, very 'figures in the shadows' and a lot of dialogue jokes. But, then there is "Cuddles: Devourer of Worlds," which is super visual, super cute, and comes with a dire warning. Don't feed strange alien things no matter how cute they are, they might just eat the entire planet! They start off small and adorable, with these massive blue eyes, but eventually you get a true Devourer of Worlds that looks like a pink, fuzzy planet. Hey, it's in the title. Everyone knew this is coming. XD But dang, even at its most monstrous, it's still so cute! (You can see the planet-chewing glutton of aww here https://www.furaffinity.net/view/49169994/
Originally I wasn't going to draw the pink fluffer that is Cuddles because it is literally a pink furry floof with giant blue eyes. The thought of painting that sounded like a nightmare... and then I remembered... Every render student's first fur render. It's a furball! So, I opened up my Maya, and like a true character modeler I am (and a render artist I am not), spent a few hours trying to get the right lighting and correct fuzziness to create a fluffy-wuffy lil' ball of shear horror. I am very proud of my expert levels of laziness. Add some giant blue eyeballs of perfect manipulative cuteness, and voila, I created what is basically a tribble. Photo, sort of photomanipulation taken of my hands in a totally-not-ripped-off-from-the-Twilight-book-covers idea, but mostly this is to give everyone the idea of scale here. Like, how could this adorable, innocent little villain possibly eat an entire planet and eradicate the human race? Doesn't it look so sweet and innocent? Don't you just want to cuddle it? See, you'd doom the planet too. How can you resist this level of cute!
I'm going to continue enjoying these images until the publisher forces me to read this story live... where you get to hear me voice act what is basically a dog's squeaky chew toy for several minutes. Enjoy!
