[SFW][SKETCHPAGE] Two lesbians, a fat king, and sum shitt...
CW suicide, overdosing, homophobia, ableism, abuse, death
//
Here we see Fuzzball's parents (Aida Russo and Leonardo Bencivengo) pre-him being born. His mom's sister, Maria Russo, was the eldest in her family but also very visibly autistic. His mom never understood this and it became a reason why she resented her. Aida said Maria wasn't her big sister all the time, right to her face. Maria's parents weren't much better and focused most of their abuse on her.
Maria got into college to get a degree in music and did well enough to go to graduate school to study music theory. Fuzzball's mom twisted this into a bad thing whenever it got brought up. A lot of it being about how studying music theory wasn't "a real job."
But graduate school brought something else with it, a girl named Spike. Maria met her at a blockbuster when the light brown doggirl went to rent one of her comfort movies. Spike was cool, nice, and good looking. Maria was attracted to her in a way she never felt towards anyone else. After hanging out with her, Maria finally realized she was in love with Spike and Spike welcomed these feelings with open arms. They started dating and hooking up. Maria enjoyed every minute and even consented to experimented with taking MDMA before sex with Spike. It seemed like the fun would never end.
But The rest of the Russo family found out about it and started demanding Maria stopped seeing her. Maria refused but her family didn't let up. Eventually they registered her for a conversion therapy camp. Her parents told her they'd be picking her up to send her there in 3 days and they did not mind using force if they had to. Maria thought of this as a fate worse than death and decided the only way to avoid it was to overdose on molly. At least then she could feel happy before she went to the great beyond.
Spike rushed over to her place after hearing her suicide voicemail and tried to get the excess MDMA out of her system, and called an ambulance, but Maria died before she could be saved. Spike felt the world crumble down around her. Maria had been such a nice, gentle soul and her life was taken away because her family couldn't stand to see her happy. But Maria's soul wasn't ready to leave Spike. In Divine Court, she did everything she could to become Spike's guardian angel. It was a long uphill battle, but she got it. Spike didn't know how or why Maria had come back like that. But she didn't complain; she embraced her now ethereal lover and knew this was meant to be. As time went on, Spike became a clergy member at a unitarian church and was a Christian queer rights activist. When people ask why she went from Atheist to Christian after what happened to Maria, Spike says she feels that Maria's still watching her and as long as she does, maybe there is a god.
