Dear god, love the comic, but hate that font.
Was I you, and I ain't, but instead of using a that font, I'd use a more normal one, but maybe layer it with a really scratched up pattern of black and grey on a dull but somewhat blood-like red. Give it that tore up look without being outright offensive to the eyes.
