My Top 10 Favorite Video Game Character For GMOD/SFM
Thought I would use a meme from a DeviantArt user known as DemitriaMiriam to express the criminal lack of better looking video game characters in the Garry's Mod and Source Filmmaker Workshops. And I think I picked some good examples, and I am going to go over every one of them left to right. I don't know if actual models of them exist there or not as most of them are actually in Blender which I severely lack the skills of. Regardless, here goes:
#10: Spooky from Pac-Man World 2
I was gonna give the spot to Toc-Man from the first Pac-Man World, but with Pac-Man World Re-Pac coming out later this month, there's a chance that someone out there will make a model of him moments before the game even releases. So I went with this big ghostly knight-like big bad many people head-canon as the ruler of all ghostsbecause Betrayus from Ghostly Adevntures ain't got shit. I actually grew up with Pac-Man World 2. Back in my mid to late childhood and early teenhood, I used to play this game a lot and even played as the villain in Pac-Man World Rally quite a bit. He even gets an awesome redesign in the now discontinued Pac-Man Monsters along with Pac N' Roll's Golvis (who also deserves a GMod/SFM model. *cough cough Pac-Man Museum+*). Not to mention knights are awesome in general so hopefully someone ports him in.
EDIT (8/13/25): Shortly after Pac-Man World Re-Pac came around, a GMod model was made of him among others. Now, Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac is on the way and with that, a possible chance for a Spooky GMod/SFM Model.
#9: The Ravenii from Extinction (the game that is)
Remember when I made Ravenii SFMs. Turns out it was actually my nooby Blender skills at work topped with photo editing. The model I used was the Blender model from Giant_Beltway on DeviantArt. I even attempted to port these giant orcs into a Source model myself, but to noAvil avail. Hopefully someone actually ports them, cause then I will actually have a Ravenii OC to make the way I see fit.
EDIT: They are available now. Thanks
TheGiantChip. Now we can give our common suburbs to Extinction ^_^
#8: Kraken from Wizard101
One of my husbandos. Having grown up with Wizard101 in my mid to late childhood as well, as well as still playing for nostalgia, I actually liked the Kraken in Triton Avenue. He is one of the most popular bosses in the game as well as one of the first you battle in the free-to-play areas in Wizard City. He was cool looking even before he got a fire redesign in 2020. There are many others like him, but he is one many like the most, even if you farm items from him. I even made a little macro story of him and even drew him on occasions. And if he ever gets into Source, I can make as much macro pics of him as I please. Maybe even fatten and bara him once I know the skills to do so.
#7: Fygar from Dig Dug
Back to Namco games, I actually find the fact that this fire breathing dragon-like enemy does not have a Source model to be really crazy. Especially with both Pac-Man World and its remake featuring Pooka from the same game series. He is even a racer in Pac-Man World Rally, just like Spooky and Toc-Man. So if a Fygar SFM model happens, it would be so fire.
#6: Flame Galboros from Kirby: Triple Deluxe
Speaking of fire, this mid-boss is so awesome looking. He is one of three Galboros mid-bosses in existence, but he is the one that actually came to Super Kirby Clash. And he is one of those two. He is a souped-up version of the regular Galbo. I know he doesn't really have limbs, but that can be easily fixed with a Source model. Why did I choose him? Because he has a crushing move. Yet the Water variation that appeared in the game prior to his has a vore move, so how come Water Galboros vores you and he doesn't? Another thing a Source model can fix.
#5: Tizoc/King of Dinosaurs from King Of Fighters
I put them together because they were practically one and the same. Do I even need an explanation on why I want them in?
#4: Tree Rex from Skylanders: Giants
Love it or hate it, you gotta admit, they have some very interesting characters. Even the Giants. I loved all the Giants. Well except for the one for the Magic Element, Ninjini, you all would know why. Not only that, I was kinda livid that she got to be in the Netflix adaptation while the other Giants didn't. Even Tree Rex could've given Skylanders Academy an extra season. Trust me. Giants was actually what got into the games in the first place, and it's the only one I own. I was planning to get Swap Force onward, then anime happened and I ended up not giving a crap. Not to mention it's gonna be 10 years since that game even came out, but I don't think Microsoft and Activision will even give two shits. There actually have been some Skylanders in Source. However, most of them were ripped from the now discontinued Ring of Heroes mobile game and details weren't really adjusted too good (kinda like the Wii and Wii U ports, my copy being one of them). Even Crusher was one of those RoH models. The only Giant ported from console was Hot Head, one of them I don't own. Hopefully a Source and Gmod port of the leader of the Giants will make his game's anniversary somewhat recognizable. Just hope someone actually goes through with that.
#3: Boss Galaga from Galaga
Man do I like Namco games? He might already be a SFM model, but chances are it's the item from Smash. I think Namco Museum Remix has a 3d model of Boss Galaga, yet no one actually did anything with it. Hopefully a custom made model of this big bug alien gets made
#2 Typhon from Housamo
Again, do I need a reason? There actually is an MMD model of him. I actually asked the model's creator a while back if he planned to port it into SFM, but no. Hopefully that gets situated.
#1 The Night Blights from Night Blights
Who saw this coming? I use SFM quite a lot and need a way to put myself in it. But no Night Blight model exists, only in Blender.
So what do you all think? Was there a video game character you like that didn't get a SFM or Gmod model? Let me know in the comments.
