Double Fireman Monster Monday.
Dorigoras and Dorigon were mutated Triceratops like Kaiju who appear in the tv Series Fireman; Episodes 1 and 2 - The Birth of Fireman and The Science Team S.A.F.
_Bio and Abilities_
Dorigoras was the first Kaiju in scene in the show and the Male mate of Dorigon – it possessed a large single horn, was dark in color and had two large fangs protruding from the sides of his mouth; floppy elephant like ears that were bigger compare to its mate. It share the same traits as Dorigon: laser beam fired from its mouth and an electric attack discharged from the horn – which would also fire energy projectiles to its enemy; Dorigoras was seen burrowing through the ground while searching for Dorigon. Personality wise, it was more submissive compare to the more dominant Dorigon. While the very first Kaiju on screen, Dorigoras was the 2nd to fight Fireman.
Dorigon was the Female mate of Dorigoras and the 2nd Kaiju on screen in the series but the first to attack the Surface World and faced off Fireman – She was reddish/brown in color, had three horns, a long tongue and elephant like ears which were smaller compare to her mate. Dorigon share the same abilities as Dorigoras: Energy Beam fired from her mouth and an Electric Attack from her horns, though hers could wrap around its enemy. Personality wise, she was the more aggressive and dominant of the two, pushing her mate around, as well was greedy and glutinous.
While the two are describe as Triceratops, Dorigoras and Dorigon were the subject of mutations – feeding from radiation coming from fallen Meteorites over the millennia (and later H-Bomb tests) which mutated them to their current form, prolong their lifespan and provided them with their various attack abilities. Also, unlike in other shows of the Genre, were there is already a team in place to deal with Monsters and other unknown occurrences, their Awakening and attacks lead to the Creation of SAF.
Their Roars were modified from the Jiger's of the Showa Gamera series: Tsuburaya at the time, was allowed access to Assets from Daiei Studios, where Fireman was filmed, some of the Monster Roars in Fireman coming from the Gamera Series; Daiei also helped in the work on some of the Monsters, quite a cooperation for Tsuburaya Productions, despite its relation and origin with Daiei's Rival – Toho Studios.
Clips of Dorigoras were used as stock footage in Dinosaur Great War Izenborg, and the suit would be modified into Okariyan in Ultraman Taro; Dorigon's design paid homage to Toho's Baragon, a monster whose suit was extensively used for shows Ultra Q and the Original Ultraman, becoming Pagos, Neronga, Magular and Gabora.
_History_
Both Triceratops like Kaiju had been alive for millions of years and would awaken sporadically every certain millennia when searching for food, namely radiation from fallen meteorites, at one point been witness by the ancient Japanese people who created a mural depicting the Monsters last awakening 10,000 years before the show's timeline, leaving a Prophesy of the Monsters awakening, a glowing sea and the arrival of a Red Man (Fireman). The mural had sank into the depths when found by the main cast in the present, though the story was passed on among the old folk. Ten Thousand years later, a large meteor crashes into the sea – an event witness by the locals, including the series main Protagonists. The meteor breaks up into various colorful glowing pieces and these awaken the Slumbering Mates, with Dorigon, the female, having a hankering for them, at times pushing her mate, not wanting to share them.
Later, Dorigon would encounter and attack the Sea Marine Sub, with Dr. Gunpachi Umino, Assitant Programer Mariko Hayama, Dr. Futoshi Chiba, Dr. Saburo Mizushima while the team studied the mural: the Team escapes and called the JSD Air Force for assistance and attack Dorigon, which only enrages her more and attacks inland, destroying the Air Force Squadron – Daisuke Misaki, a young archeologist, comes out to face the beast by Transforming into Fireman: the two Giants face off, with Dorigon showing dominance, but Fireman resilience forces her back into the sea and he follows, were the Monster uses tactics of her surroundings, blinding the Giant Hero Humanoid with a blinding flash attack and trapping him under the ruins of the mural, where (like with Ultraman) Fireman's 3 minute time limit begins to run out. Ending Ep.1.
In Ep.2 However, Fireman breaks free from the rubble and rips all of Dorigon's Horns; after beating the Monster further around, Fireman disposes of Dorigon with a Fire Flash attack, blowing her to pieces. Afterwards Fireman returns to his Human form and Misaki meets up with Dr. Umino and the others.
Not long after, Dorigoras emerges and goes on a rampage search for his mate, burrowing into the village – Misaki appears and transforms into Fireman and battles Dorigoras, where the beast uses its abilities to fend off from Fireman's physical attacks (at one point, the two are bouncing around in a sped up sequence, it was quite ridiculous). After using its Energy Projectile, Fireman uses its Jumping kick attack (Firejack) to rip off the large horn. With his time limit about to be reach, Fireman kicks and tosses Dorigoras a bit more, before killing it with its Fireflash move, disposing of the beast after the quick battle.
Later and as consequence of the Monsters' Attacks, Dr. Umino meets up with his mentor and superior, who informs of the new team he would lead - the Scientific Attack Force, or SAF for short. Umino assembles the team with Mariko, Chiba, Mizushima and Misaki(Fireman) – though the latter two at first reject it, by the Episode's end the two would join the team.

I'm glad you added in that tid-bit about Daiei lending a hand in making the series. I think it helps it stand out a bit more in Tsuburaya's lineup. Not to mention the killer soundtrack of the series, from the absolute banger of an intro, to the subtly foreboding yet uplifting SAF theme (which has been remixed into Fireman's battle theme of course)
I was surprise to learn that part - considering the Origins of the company with one of the Toho's luminary producers and many their stars appearing in the series. Hell Fireman still used some of Toho Stars for this show despite it (technically) been a Daiei Co-production.
Just checked to be certain and from what I read (and this is from the wikipedia, so grain of salt) besides been acquire by Tokuma Shoten in 1974, nothing (in either wiki) indicates Tsuburaya Productions ever purchasing Daiei at anytime before been absorbed by Kadokawa in 2002. Though it would be possible Daiei would have allowed to borrow their lot and assets (sound effects, production and work floors - hell even their employees) to Tsuburaya Production to stay afloat - this was after all their period of severe financial troubles in the 70's, and the whole Fireman Production was film in their Studios with their Gamera based assets.
It is interesting to me that besides that, Daiei has no mention or credit given in actually been a "Co-Producer" in the Production of Fireman - in any capacity. This is why I loosely used the words "(Technically) been a Daiei Co-Production". I wonder why is that?
