D&D: Lux Zodiac and the Forgotten Devil.
One last light comes on, this one bathing the entire garden in a harsh white glow. A man stands effortlessly in a frozen fountain, slimly built and dressed in overwhelmingly bright white; his boots, breeches, and scale-covered armor suggest a hunter. A low hat adorned with ice-blue flowers sits perfectly on his head and casts his features into darkness, but you can vaguely see a mouth fixed with the hard edges of a frown. A nightmarish thing hovers behind him, its flesh lustrous black and covered in spikes, horns, and ridges of solid ice. Even its fingers are ghastly claw-like icicles, and though it lacks eyes you feel like its gaze is passing over you; the devil's forced smile only grows as it “sees” you, though the hunter appears remarkably unamused. As you look at him you remember when Foggy told his own fortune and drew a particular card of a winged devil with twisted fangs and two smaller figures in chains. The words of his fortune come back to you, echoing like the memories you've witnessed.
“Future. The loss of one's better self to the demon within. A bargain too cruel to agree to, too dire to spurn. The cards suggest that down this forked path lies a roadblock that cannot be sidestepped... A force to be reckoned with, one way or another.”
~~~A soldier who seeks to free the humans of Somncrest, no matter what it takes. Whether he's more corrupted by his own hatred of vampires, or the devil he made a deal with is hard to say. The devil--Snixt--seems content with the arrangement either way.
When I made Eve a petal knight I thought a lot about the sorts of people she'd know, particularly other petal knights. Lux grew pretty naturally from there as a potential suitor with ulterior motives, and the idea just kept growing. I thought it'd make sense Eve wasn't the only one with plans to overthrow her father, and enjoyed thinking about how those good intentions could go bad.
at first i thought he'd be a pretty standard looking vampire hunter type: wearing all black, lookin shady... Snixt I also initially imagined as white and blue, but after much waffling I thought a "black ice" look would be better. It's weird how they basically swapped palettes!
