As the historic Clifton, Bristol Zoo will close in September 2022 this is my last photo of Penguin Coast, though I may have some previous visit photos to post, especially from the Seal enclosure as I didn't get good photos on my 'final visit'.
This photo I have posted as the previous photos didn't show any water This one I framed to show the second part of the Seal and Penguin Coast exhibit.
The underwater observation tube.
Designed in 1997 to be fully accessible, after touring the above ground (or water) areas the path leads down to the underwater view ports and walk-through tubes.
To simulate the sea and keep the penguins properly exercised by having to swim against a current a wave machine is set under the 'rock' to the centre left of the picture. Just need the penguins to show signs of wanting to go for a swim!
