Dec 12- 2042- Day 83
Went through the usual series of mental exercises for her and I’ve decided that this will be the last time she gets them, at least on a regular basis. It would still do a lot of good to keep in mind and check back from time to time to make sure there is no further sliding, though historically once the body has finished changing the mind doesn’t degrade any further. Most of what is lost is the result of the brain changing size and shape. Felix’s brain degraded to being completely identical to a cat. Her brain likely is keeping at least some of the complexity, but is still shrinking so some is lost.
Mostly I just don’t think there is any real benefit for having her do these anymore. We have enough data points by now to have a good understanding of where she’s likely going to end up. Her mind is still degrading a bit but the degradation is starting to taper off. So long as we make sure that she is kept mentally stimulated as often as she is willing to do there should be minimal risk of her losing much more than she already has.
The biggest reason for stopping is that it’s a matter of frustration for her. There are a lot of tasks that are about how much she can still process information as well as a human adult can and her body isn’t suited for these and she knows that she’s getting worse. Far better to challenge her in ways that are not a repeating test and encourage curiosity and exploration than just testing.

((Sorry for delay. Part of the problem is that when you start getting to the end you start running into a wall of what to write about. Because there reaches a point where all the posts are "She is mostly transformed." "She is now slightly more mostly transformed." And the character took things a different way from the original direction for this stage, so I had to rewrite and drew a blank on what to do for this page. I'll try to get back on pace for the rest.))
