This is my part of a trade for https://www.deviantart.com/fatfurluver123 with their characters Bouncy Hopper the stretchy rabbit and Hannah the fat squirrel.
There was a fire at their grocery store, so Bouncy Hopper could best solve this by blowing herself up with water and putting it out.

It’s that time of the day that two friends, a twenty-three fat squirrel named Hannah and a twenty-four stretchy rabbit named Bouncy Hopper were going grocery shopping. Hannah was running out of food, and she kept eating it all too quickly, and Bouncy had come by her place to see how she was doing. Now the rabbit was going to help get her some groceries. The orange-furred squirrel was wearing a pair of blue jeans and a brown shirt that couldn’t cover up her enlarged ball gut that hangs down. Bouncy Hopper, the skinny yet flexible rabbit, had her two-piece suit, leaving her torso fully exposed but for style rather than size. Hannah bought herself a list of all the groceries she needs, and this list was truly long. As Hannah gets a cart, she tears the list in half so she can work on the top half while Bouncy Hopper does the bottom half. “This is a lot of food. Are you sure you can eat all of this?” Bouncy asks as she goes over the list. “I mean I don’t doubt you but…..” She didn’t know how to describe it.
“I’ll burst?” Hannah assumes that’s what she’s about to say next. The squirrel scoffs with a smirk on her face. “I can handle as much as I have on that list. My gut is like storage for a whole buffet of food.” She grabs the sides of her belly and shakes it around, sloshing it like a water balloon.
It does please Bouncy to have her friend be so confident with having a fat gut. There are times when she expands her body and belly but only for the job, not permanently. “If that’s the case, how about I make a challenge at home? I expanded myself to a certain size and you got to reach that point.” Now that is challenging for Hannah. Bouncy can just swell up to any size she wants. Maybe as a blimp, a planet, or the size of the sun, which does sound impossible for most people if they ever hear that.
“Geez….” Hannah deflates with her arms crossed. “I guess I can give it a try. Just don’t do too much on me.” She said as she began to move her cart around in the aisles.
“It won’t. We’ll start small.” Bouncy has high hopes for Hannah’s belly expansion goals. Maybe together they could show off their big bellies once Bouncy expands hers after Hannah’s. With her friend shopping, Bouncy takes a look at the list and figures out what to get first. “The milk is closest to her but it’s best to get that last. Coffee sounds like a good place to start. “The coffee was just on the next aisle after chips and cereal. She didn’t have a shopping cart with her but thanks to her stretchy body, she’ll soon carry everything once that list is done. On the coffee shelf, she picks out the brand of coffee that Hannah loves the most. The rabbit never tried it before but Hannah said that it was amazing. She checks off coffee and the next thing is a bag of flour. “Man, is she cooking something too?” Usually, she’s seen Hannah cook frozen foods and pre-made meals, never from scratch. Unless Hannah found something with tons of calories. On her way down the aisles, she grabs any type of flour that she first sees. Maybe Hannah should start describing what brand she needs. With the flour done, she moves onto the next thing. And so on, she goes into every aisle, almost grabbing every single item on that list. Her arms twisted around as rope to coil the stuff gently, even using her legs which made it a little difficult for her to walk. The customers around her were extremely confused by this sort of skill Bouncy has and didn’t know if they should ask or ignore it.
During her last pick-up, she could smell something familiar, and it was not a good smell. Sniffing all she can, it smelled like smoke. And she wasn’t the only one who was smelling it too. Some people were walking away from the smell in a hurry like something terrible had happened. “Fire!” Someone screams as the alarms are activated. Worried about the safety of the store, Bouncy puts the groceries in a safe place and goes in the opposite direction the customers are rushing. Soon enough, the smell gets stronger and the rabbit can see flashes of light coming from behind a shelf. Arriving at the scene, Bouncy could see how strong this fire was. It’s engulfed by what looks like a shopping cart with groceries. She doesn’t even want to know how this happened, all she knows is that this fire needs to be taken out. Once she’s done examining the flames, she makes her leave and hurriedly exits the building. Looking around, she finds Hannah standing in the crowd. “Hannah!” She calls out, getting the fat squirrel’s attention.
“Bouncy!” Hannah says as she’s glad that her friend is safe. “I was worried that you were trying to put out that fire. The firefighters will be here soon.”
That didn’t help the case for Bouncy. She’s seen the fire and knowing that their station is on the other side of the city, they wouldn’t make it on time when the whole store is in flames. “No, it’s not enough. I have to do it.”
Hannah didn’t understand what the big deal was, since she wasn’t the one who saw how big the fire was. “Are you sure? How are you even going to put it out? We don’t have any fire extinguishers outside and it’s too smokey inside to grab them. That was Hannah’s opinion, but the rabbit had another idea. Looking around, she finds a fire hydrant right on the sidewalk. Next, Bouncy runs over to the fire hydrant, bending down on her knees before twisting one of the caps. “What are you doing?” Hannah asks, questioning the rabbit’s actions.
Bouncy didn’t need to think about what she was about to do. All she cares about is putting out the fire, her reputation isn’t important for many reasons. “Doing what I can to save the store!” Once she gets the hydrant fully loose, water spews out like an angry hose with the force of a hurricane. It splashes over Bouncy’s chest, sending her back but her arms still holding onto the hydrant as they stretch. Using all of her strength, Bouncy retracts back to the hydrant and seals her lips on the cap, letting the water flow into her body instead. Her cheeks swell outwards and her belly is quick to start expanding with how extreme the flow of the water is. With loud gulps, Bouncy uses her body as an expanding water balloon. Once her belly was the size of a beach ball, her sides expanded out of her pants, and her back rounded out. It’s like her entire torso was turning into a spherical shape.
Hannah had no idea what she was doing with the fire hydrant at first but now seeing her expand like that, it’s noticeable that Bouncy is going to put the fire herself with her own inflating torso. “What is she doing?” One person said in the crowd as they all stared at Bouncy swelling. “Is she blowing up with water?” Hannah didn’t even want to answer that, not even to herself.
Soon, her body was just as massive as a boulder, which is the size that got her to stop when she twisted the cap tightly so the water would stop flowing out. Standing up on her two wiggly and skinny legs, her body sloshes side to side. “Whoa!” This was actually the first time she’s done this so she doesn’t know what to expect once she expels the water out soon. Without any second to lose, she runs, waddling mostly, back inside the building and into the smoke. Everyone gasps and mummers to themselves if the rabbit who inflates herself will be okay. As for Hannah, she knows that Bouncy can do anything. Even if the smoke is thick, she can make her way toward the flames. The shopping cart was still the only thing on fire and it was almost close to hitting the shelves. Aiming her face at the burning shopping cart. She blasts the water out of her mouth like a fire hose if the firemen were there. The good news is that there isn’t any oil on the cart since it’s not spreading. With the fire slowly getting weaker and smaller, her round torso deflates slowly, like her body is being pressed by force. It gets darker and darker in the special room, with the fire dying out and all of the water on the floor becoming a giant puddle. “Phew, that was a close one. Time to get out before the firemen arrive.” Again, she runs out of the building like the first time and makes it out. In front of her is the silent crowd, looking at each other with clueless expressions on their faces. “Ummm….the fire is out.” She says but even that doesn’t get everyone to change faces or make noise from them. It’s at this point that Bouncy should just leave the place and get Hannah’s groceries another time. Passing by the crowd and into the parking lot, she meets Hannah in the car. “The fire is put out.” Bouncy said as she got in the car, with her body being skinny again.
“That’s nice to hear. Shame we didn’t get the groceries.” Hannah was looking forward to it, because she was hungry and of the deal Bouncy made her.
“That’s alright. We can go to that buffet place you like. I’ll pay this time.” Bouncy offers since Hannah usually pays due to her eating the most. “By the way, the deal is still up if you’re in it.”
Hannah starts the car and looks right at her, with a nice smirk on her face. “Sure thing. Just remind me, will it not be that ginormous size you made before?” That’s the only thing she worries about.
With a giggle from the rabbit, she says, “Of course not! That’s for the future. We’ll take baby steps and you’ll get there.” Bouncy eases her and pats the squirrel’s shoulder with care. “Hopefully it won’t be as crowded as the parking lot.” She jokes as Hannah drives them out of the store. As they were driving by, they passed the alarming firetrucks who were rushing over to the scene. It’ll be a waste of time for them to realize that the fire is already gone by a secret hero from the shadows or from the crowd as Bouncy puts it that way.
