A Few Original Species [to re-work a bit]
Going to be working on these three species a bit more soon hopefully.
Another New Species:
The first [far left] has been seen on this account in a different form sort of. They're a general "new species" that I first began in high school. The concept here combines the newer design (no eyes, many whiskers) and the original design (no legs/paws but full faces) together. So it is back to one body with a large tail, there is a muzzle but no nose just mouth and whiskers perhaps almost baleen-esque. The ears have gone very minimal compared to both previous designs: they are now rather flat like having flaps over the ear holes. Still unclear where it is going. The species will probably stay a cave-dwelling type creature.
Aquatic Alien:
I think I gave this creature a species name and it is listed on my ToyHouse... but I didn't bother looking it up lol.
The only major difference here is changing from hindlegs to a tail like mermaids. I might make them more seahorse-like especially since the species from the very beginning has had three separate sexes and the seahorse challenges Earthly gender norms by being the one to pump out the kids after they've been moved to his patch pre-birth.
Mind you, the Aquatic Aliens have been male and female who use male and female gametes to make the offspring, and the third sex is the one who grows the unborn in their body, birth them, and do most of the raising of the youngest offspring.
I'm still debating if the third sex will give no genes to the offspring or if they shall offer some. The original concept has them with emphasis on why the species lives in pods of families: for this species it takes a village to raise the children and having one of the sexes no give genetics but be essential is tied to that.
I'm also considering adding something similar to dorsal fins to their backs. While their large, angled ears are used as fins as well as ears, I'm thinking a nice dorsal member could not only make biological sense but also look fun too.
Lemrelle:
The Lemrelle is a species I've never actually drawn before. So this is the first time it is really getting pinned down and noted like my other original species. The basis is that they're lemur-cats. Sometimes they're aquatic but I'm thinking they'll be semi-aquatic as [I believe but could be incorrect] lemurs are suspected to have rafted over open ocean at some point in history. So the species is not fully feral, but have communities but not quite tribes with technology.
They live on land and into dam-like structures built on the waters. They perhaps can also sail as well as swim very well.
So the general idea is a decent blend of lemur and cat. Two tails are there because I have a weak spot for nekomata/bakeneko who are noted for two long tails. The tails are prehensile.
The fur is not always long, but thick for protection and other reasons.
Forelegs are more arm-ish like lemurs. The forepaws have fingers that are in the spots that cats irl have their claws. The back legs are more cat-like but I'm not sure if fully so or not. I don't think they'll have the digits their instead of claws, but I am unsure still.
So just a few notes for these!
