this is extremely disrespectful imo. "as a child, i was taught about religion. because of this, i am a victim of grooming and child abuse." not only is this a slap in the face to children who were actually groomed and abused (especially with your not very subtle innuendo comparing acceptance of Jesus to rape. saying "i accept Jesus into my heart" and being a child victim of sexual violence are not even remotely comparable, you are not a rape victim. watching veggie tales in sunday school and being groomed by an adult pedophile for sexual acts are not even remotely comparable, you are not a victim of grooming), but religion has been an extremely important part of human culture for thousands of years. there is a drive for religion and ritual practice that has existed in even the earliest cultures, separated by continents and developed independently. it's ludicrous to claim "all religion is bad and evil because i don't like it" when all of human history suggests the contrary. there is nothing abusive in the practice of teaching one's religious beliefs to one's children, and in fact is one of if not the most important aspect of many cultures. if religion was used by your community to also teach their political ideologies, that is incidental, and the blame lies within the ideologies themselves rather than the vehicle they were delivered. the Bible has been used to both decry and advocate for lgbt+ rights depending on how the reader chooses to interpret it, and there is an enormous community of lgbt+ christians and their allies. this is true of any belief system, but especially christianity: as the largest religion in the world, there is inevitably going to be a subset of practitioners who abuse the concept of faith in this way. a homophobic community will be homophobic whether they are christian or not, as will a tolerant community.
also, i know it's very trendy and acceptable to bash christians, but your argument claims that all religious teachings are abuse. i understand you're angry that your family taught you about something you didn't want to believe in (which, btw, is fully within your rights. children are educated about religion because it is an important part of their family, history, and culture, and they are free to decide whether or not they want to adopt their own faith), but do you genuinely believe that teaching children about religion is inherently abuse? are you prepared to call bar mitzvahs and bat mitzvahs abuse perpetuated by predatory rabbis? jewish people worship the same God as christians and even share most of the same holy text. the passages in your video are from the old testament. so i guess you hate jewish people too? you're making youtube videos on how judaism is an utterly ridiculous belief (both religions believe in the same omniscient God, after all,) and not only should jewish children not be taught about it, but to do so is abuse? what about islamic people? they all worship the same Abrahamic God. what about smaller religions? should native people not be allowed to teach their children about their endangered culture in this way?
while i do agree with your statement that children should not be subjected to scare tactics about damnation, this is not a universal practice in christian communities and not encouraged by the actual Bible. additionally, moral orel is the furthest thing from a good example of christianity to be used in an argument on why christians are bad. it is a tv show that aired on adult swim that explicitly exaggerates christian stereotypes and paints them as bad for comedic effect. it is not meant to be part of a child's religious education, and in fact would be actively harmful to it. it is not endorsed by the general christian community. i feel that this shows a general lack of understanding of the faith you are bashing.
please read and consider this comment carefully and respectfully like i considered the contents of your video. this comment is not a flame. when you present an argument about a controversial topic it's only natural that people will want to respond to it and continue the conversation. thank you

I appreciate the comment.
All religions belong in the garbage bin of history. Participating in some event or ritual, Putting importance on traditions, outside of some historical curiosity, or just plain fun, is abuse. Also jews and american natives are not trying to pass laws forcing people to conform to their beliefs. Natives also face a lot of abuse in the forms of the christain run government that created their situation in the first place https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E55Yr2msrAw
As far as the RELIGIOUS jews are concerned. The most zionist Hasidic jews don't even participate in mainstream society and yes they are full of strict authoritarian abusive practices as well putting woman in second. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBPn5oQNutI The reason we are sending weapons to isreal and allow them to continue it's human rights violations there is because of the idea there is a prophecy behind it. That being said palestien has it's own intolerance problems based on their religion. And syria is the greatest example of a theocratic state.
And since you are not aware, the latest movement to undermine the rights for queer people, especially trans people, is instead of labeling lgbt people as pedos they label them as groomers. That "the gays got their way and now they are coming after your kids." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GY5gToEZMS0
Also since the supreme court in the US reversed roe v wade, they are coming after marriage and contraception next. There are no arguments against these things without tying it to religion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_tOTOE90cY&t=257s at 2:10
The fact people cherry pick verses to both support and talk against things at the same time like Gays, slavery etc. should be a demonstration of the illegitimacy of said book being a holy text.
The majority always, always, use religious dogma to resist every effort of social progress in every country. They merely adapt after the public starts to come around on things, example being that its interesting the MORMONS decided to allow black people to hold positions of power in their churches in the 1970s, almost like the ability to survive, continue to make money, and influence the country politicians outweighs their faith and belief that black skinned people are cursed...which is something christains held in belief in for centuries too.

if you truly believe all religion is inherently backwards and evil i suppose there isnt any room for conversation. i just ask you be respectful of the millions whose religions are catalysts for personal growth & spiritual development, used for good, and have done good for its practitioners & their communities. for example, growing up in a religious community & attending a religious private school as openly lesbian, i was never once discriminated against—additionally, there was an openly trans kid who i participated in running the service with, and we had a lesbian pastor fill in at one point while we were between reverends—and my community used its churches to organize dozens of outreach projects (food banks, homeless shelters, supporting sister schools in 3rd world countries to give opportunities to children who would otherwise not be able to be educated, etc). even after moving across the continent, the local churches are painting their front steps rainbow for pride month. thank you for your time
