Birdz was a Saturday Morning Cartoon series that aired in Fall 1998 on CBS. It had 13 episodes in which focused primarily on Eddie Storkowitz, and his misadventures in learning life lessons most children deal with in their transition into becoming a Pre-Teen. . However it also had a large number of sub plots that played out through the course of each episode that revolved around Eddie’s father, mother, older sister, and younger sister.
Betty is Dr. Morty Storkowitz’s wife and the proud mother of Stephy, Eddie, and Abby Storkowitz. She is also far more than your everyday housewife and doting mother. When not tending to the needs of her family, Betty is a very successful artist who is commissioned to create sculptures and paintings for the everyday consumer along with recognized celebrities and local government.

Like her husband, Betty works from home. This allows her to create her art while making time for cooking, cleaning, and caring for the children. She is also very proud of her talents as an artist and is very sensitive about how she compares against others who are widely recognized for their creative abilities.

Just like Stephy, Betty does not have any real character development during the run of the animated series. We get to see all the different ways she goes about her career as an independent artist, how happy she is that Abby appears to be taking after her with a love for the creative arts, and how she and Morty work together when it comes to raising their children.
If there were to have been a Season 2 for Birdz, Betty would have probably had a greater role in getting Abby through her ‘Terrible 2s’ while providing moral support to Stephy as she prepares for life after High School.
