Summer has arrived in the Northern Hemisphere and with it swimsuit weather. This is a Patreon patron reward. They wanted Zipp Storm in a bikini.
Of all the new characters in Gen 5 Zipp has been the biggest, and most pleasant, surprise for me. I thought she was going to be another jock pegasus pony. Now she is very athletic but she has a scholastic aspect that I found very appealing.
FYI. As I was drawing this picture the little scene in the bottom right corner popped into my head. So I added it.
I hope you like what you see. Please help make more art like this possible by supporting me at Patreon

The G5 ponies reflect the same stereotypes as the Mane Six in G4 did, but differently.
Zipp is sporty and athletic, but also decidedly brainy, and very unlike the brash jock w. learning difficulties Rainbow Dash. Her unhappiness with her role as the Crown Princess is something very different from Rainbow's relentless pursuit of her dreams, too.
Pipp is the girly girl of the team, but where Rarity was a creative artist with upwards aspirations, she's a performing artist and already on the top, socially. I would imagine they would not like one another on the first meeting!
Hitch is not the friend to all critters that Fluttershy was; rather, all critters are friends to him whether he wants it or not. And his mix of heroism, vanity, and solid common sense is something very different from 'Shy's, well, shyness mixed with anxiety and lots of suppressed anger issues.
Izzy is nuts, in ways kinda familiar from Pinkie, but she's a crafter, not a party pony, and while both have past issues with friendlessness, it's quite a different sort of alienation they're dealing with.
And of course Sunny herself is very much Not Twilight Sparkle. She's an idealist, a bit naive, very mucha doer rather than thinker, definitely extroverted to Twi's introversion, without the same know-it-all arrogance.
