Warriors of the Elder Primordials, crafted to restore the broken world they awoke to. A job they excelled at, but now in modern times they are... Pushy, to say the least. They mean well, but their "protection" isn't quite as needed in a time of relative peace as it was in that great time of crisis.
Molded by the hooves of the the big three; Earth, Wind, and Fire, and their tempestuous child Storm.
Kabaiyo resemble western-style dragons, scales, third pair of limbs in wings (Though rare breeds without wings or even huge wings do exist), an elemental breath weapon, but they also bear the likeness of the most powerful, most venerable of creatures to ever exist: Horses. With long flowing manes, tough hooves, and legs for days. (If you want to get real creative, take the Iguanamouth dragon-to-horse slider and just pick any point to go off of) They can be any color on the rainbow, though their color is typically tied to which godly linage they descend from, They also come with a tail-weapon, though the weapon is different between families- It could be a mace, a morning star, a sharp arrow-point, etc etc.
Kabaiyo can grow up to anywhere from 3 feet (tiny) to 10 feet tall (huge) head to toe, and live up to 200 years.
Kabaiyo claim sovereignty over all lands and peoples, though they don't all agree on how. Over the ages, the Kabaiyo have spread out and settled into their own kingdoms across the lands. To protect their homes/create a safe refuge should it be needed, the protector dragons make their homes in underground cities carved by their own hooves, nestling into “lairs” made within. Think something like adobe settlements carved into the side of a mountain. Being underground renders these cities safe from attacks from above, be it other dragons or the long sworn enemy of Srreesh, the Umbra.
Most of their culture is more or less feudalism, with bits and pieces borrowed/adapted from those they integrated with, molded to the fancy of their rambunctious tastes.
One thing uniquely Kabaiyo however is the wargames. To keep the wheels of competition oiled without destroying their society, Kabaiyo regularly host wargames, large scale campaigns held within their local region where they fight and compete for glory and acclaim.
Kabaiyo trend toward being assertive, competive, and boisterous. Though the sense of duty permeates all Kabaiyo, most are content nowadays to keep watch over their chosen lands rather than assert their will aggressively.
Kabaiyo names come in three flavors:
-[Verb (Optional Adjective) Object, like Soaring Petty Ember]
-Cool Sounds that resemble names (ala the Krogans)
-Single word regular names, with the expectation that the individual will accrue more names and titles during their lifetime
Kabaiyo names are often amended with a family name that is spoken outside of official introductions, or when reChattineg to the clan. It is also common practice that their names bear the name of their home on the end, ala “Geralt of Rivia” or “Ezio Auditore da Firenze”
Numerous, competitive, somewhat feudal.
