Buck Brothers: National Bald Eagle Day 6/20/22
The Bald Eagle is one of our treasured symbols of the United States. It was placed on the Great Seal in 1782 when people wanted a symbol that stands for America's strength.
The Bald Eagle is a large and strong bird with a boasting wingspan up to six to eight feet wide as big as the average person is tall.
They don't get their trademark white head until they are five years old. View plumage list and video here: https://avianreport.com/age-and-ide.....lt-bald-eagle/ and video: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=r7DRTBqe3SM
Well, not everyone wanted the Bald Eagle to be our national bird, Benjamin Franklin wanted the wild turkey. He thought it was a clever bird with it being vain and silly and believed that the bald eagle was a symbol of bad immoral character.
The Bald Eagle can only lives in North America including many parts of Canada, and eastern or western parts of the United States.
We almost lost this bird to many habitats, lead poisoning, hunted down, and deforestation.
For such a powerful bird, the Bald Eagle makes piping or whistling calls to attract mates or claim territory. If you watched a cartoon or a movie, the call is responsible for the Red-Tailed Hawk (Blame Hollywood, and the way we think of birds is that actions speak louder than words.

In the Buck Brothers, Patriot and Griffin were adopted as Bald Eagle characters 2019 in Landstown High School with a similar looking mascot which made them go from holiday characters to official characters.
