I wanted to avert the 'Dividual'-trope the triplets are usually associated with, taking inspiration from both 2017 "Ducktales" and "Quack Pack" when designing each kid. Huey is a sports jock who plays field hockey. Dewey is a tech nerd who errs on the side of caution. Louie is a careless tricktster who use manipulation to overcome obstacles. Because of their clashing personalities, Dewey and Louie doesn't get along well with each other and it is usually Huey that coordinates them when their collective intelligence is needed for a task.
The creatures they're interacting with here are F-Xas, one of many aliens visiting Earth. They're unique among aliens for having a dividual-based personhood system and a particularly confusing language.
