Looks like Cloud is facing Sephiroth in his artwork. In the games he usually has the wing when he is going 'omnislash' at him.

Yeah, I do remember that they did face off, which sadly wasn't much, even in Final Mix, or in 2, though at least we could imagine how the clash goes

I admittedly never was the biggest FFVII fan myself so I wasn't really disappointed. FFIX is probably my favourite game. Enjoyed the fantastic nature of the game plus Zidane, Vivi and the others were rather likable. Always found it a shame only Vivi made it as a cameo in one of the games so far. And thinking of it, only the few characters from VII and VIII really had a lasting impact in the overall canon of "Kingdom Hearts". Selphie likely won't be mentioned by Kairi in any of the upcoming games even, I could imagine. But yeah, the games try to move away from the FF characters more in favor of original ones, it seems(which is fair of course, but I liked the little extra mini plots going on).

Yeah, I see that too, which is a shame because of the point of the series, though who knows what'll happen in the future?

Seeing this drawing brings back memories of playing kingdom Hearts trying to beat Seperath. I always hated it!
