***Yosh: Newborn – 3 Years***
Yosh was the first-hatched child of Duckers & Mellony O’Ducky. He was a dino-duck hybrid whose egg was unusually small for being laid by a Momma Yoshi. Fortunately, aside from having delayed growth in his early years, Yosh was a happy and healthy, baby boy who was a chip right off his father’s beak.

The hybrid dino-duckling was very happy, playful, and cuddly. He was also very clingy, klutzy, and chatty. This resulted in the blue-eyed baby needing glasses and being more encouraged than discouraged to use a pacifier.

Even when Yosh was able to waddle and speak more than he simply chirped out a quacking tune, he still seemed to love nothing more than those moments when he would have his diapers changed. Most toddlers show signs of discomfort, or shame, as they grow closer to three years of age. However, to the dismay of his parents, Yosh never appeared to care about what he deposited in his diapers.

Dr. Mick Storkawits, the doctor who helped deliver Yosh’s egg and who had been handling his care since infancy, believed Yosh’s disinterest in ditching the diapers stemmed from being, at present, an only child who was very protected by his, still at this time, ostracized parents. With his mommy getting close to laying her second egg, which would hatch into his duck-dino sister, Winry, Dr. Storkawits instructed Mr. and Mrs. O’Ducky to start allowing their son more time away from his parents. He also encouraged buying ‘non-luxury diapers’ so Yosh would be more aware of when he had an ‘accident’ in his pants.

***Yosh: Ages 3 – 4.5***
The ‘non-luxury diapers’, despite creating nearly twice the amount of laundry, eventually paid off in getting little Yosh to take interest in his potty training. He was even starting to show success in training pants up until the time his sister emerged from her egg.

Yosh quickly started to regress upon seeing how his parents were spending more time with his freshly-hatched sister, Winry, than they were with him. He started to do things, like obnoxiously quacking to distract his parents away from his duck-dinosaur sibling, which upset his parents who were already struggling to support a helpless hatchling and a super-needy and clingy toddler who should be further along in being ready for preschool than he currently was.

By the time Yosh’s Auntie & Uncle Platts, who resided in Baywater, started to help reconnect his parents with his not yet seen, or even heard from, grandparents, the dino-duckling was going from being a late-blooming preschooler back to the ‘Terrible 2s’ toddler his parents had thought he would never be.

Yosh’s cousin, Penelope Platts, was a platypus who was just under a year older than him. She was in ‘bid kid underwear’ and only needing to wear her training pants for long car rides and at bedtime.

It was hoped that Penelope, who appeared like a hybrid given her duck and beaver-like features she had by being a platypus, would get Yosh back on track for potty training and preschool. However, Yosh’s overly jovial and rebellious behavior ended up putting Penelpe back in training pants both day and night after taking inspiration from Yosh’s ‘potty dance’ and ‘packed Pawper waddle walk’. (Penelope has always had a love for dancing and found herself too distracted by her younger cousin’s ‘hold it until you load it’ strategy of destroying his training pants as a way to really get her groove on.

With the visit to baywater a success, Yosh soon found himself meeting his extended family in a forgotten southern town. Given the events in baywater, coupled with caring for newborn Winry, it was decided that Yosh be allowed to return to using ‘luxury diapers’ until a time would come to work with his pediatrician on a regular basis to sort out how to turn his regression back into progression.

The next time Yosh got to spend time with his cousin Penelope came when his family had finally found a way to get him to take potty training seriously again. Both he and his cousin had come a long way in their ability to speak words and use sentences. Penelope also only ever wore training pants if she was to journey on long car trips, flights, or need to sit in one place for a very long period of time where bathroom access may be more difficult to acquire. ([i]She had not had an ‘accident’ since turning five years old.).


***Yosh: Ages 4.5 – 5?[***/i]
Winry was the complete opposite of her brother, Yosh. She was ready to get out of diapers before the age of two and would quickly strip off any diaper that would be placed upon her. This confused Mr. and Mrs. O’Ducky based on how their son had never shown any interest to ever get out of diapers while their daughter delighted in proclaiming, “DIAPERS OFF!” after forcing the absorbent garment from her waist and proudly parading her fluffy yellow feather-covered body around wherever she was with not a single care in the world. Consulting with Dr. Mick Storkawits was not very helpful given how ‘Hybrid Families’ had only become openly accepted over the past few decades and there were more questions than answers on how a hybrid child may turn out given what dominant and recessive traits are passed on from the mother and father. Fortunately the dutiful stork OBGYN & Pediatrician was part of a research group looking to get answers to these very pressing questions of the time. Although Yosh and Winry would not immediately benefit, if at all, from the research, future generations of hybrid children would come to have far more detectable birth defects that could be treated prior to any negative consequences coming from the current lack of available data.

Back at Auntie & Uncle Platts’, Penelpe has been made very aware of how her cousin, Yosh, was still having more ‘rainy days’ than ‘sunny days’ on his potty chart. She was also informed of how her younger cousin, Winry, was actively potty training and appeared to enjoy hunting her brother down with her Yoshi-like sense of smell to catch him before he made a poopy in his trainers.

We now see Yosh, who wears no clothing to cover his ‘Pony Magic’ training pants, standing by his older cousin, Penelope. She slightly remembers how he had gotten her to take part in making a mess of her potty training nearly two years ago. As she is preparing to start ‘First Grade’ at her assigned Elementary School, she wishes for nothing more than her younger cousin to not embarrass, gross out, or make life more uncomfortable than it already is as she does all she can to embark on the first step in her educational journey.

[i]***Yosh: Ages 6+***
Yosh and Winry finished their potty training at about the same time. Yosh was 5.5 years old and Winry was 2.5. The only difference, besides the three years separating the two siblings, was how Yosh still needed ‘overnight protection’ from time-to-time while Winry never even thought for a moment about ever wanting to wear a bulky, personal potty around her waist ever again.

Penelope has not needed any sort of protective undergarment since before Yosh & Winry’s most recent visit. She now delights in wearing printed underwear that fits her mood each and every day while delighting in taking ballet lessons after school.
