Well I do have a method for it that isn't soo bad. But I've been drawing reptiles and the like most of my drawing life ;3 So it's second nature to me by this point :3

Holy shit Goober, the details on those scales * u *!!!!!! That's some PHENOMENAL scale work and I always adore the way you draw reptilian heads and teeth! This is an absolutely gorgeous and stunning image! Can practically feel those scales! ^^

I just love the little "mlem" with his face. So devious looking. >:} God I always love how well you do the bigger scale plates / underbelly so much. They just have so much *pop* to them. The dual lighting with the blues and reds on this piece was such a fun touch as well. As always, you do such fantastic work! ;v; Keep it up!

Plates are a curious thing to rendering because they wrap around a somewhat cylindrical shape but they too have their own shapes. So conveying that is always a unique challenge.
