The Orchid Dunes, a perilous land under the unforgiving black sun. These desert lands are home to the Orcs, a pig-like race that once made their home in the vast forestlands before their banishment. Their history is a mystery to the Dwarfs; all that they know is that they were once allies with the Elves before their banishment. According to their own accounts of events, the Orcs and Elves were involved in a war and had taken opposites odds. The Elves' side had won.
The Orchid Dunes was once a plentiful ocan in ancient times before the water had dried out. The sands are now dyed a rich violet color, so hot that walking across the desert is a death sentence for most. But thankfully, the Orcs were able to find a number of Fae Trees; named due to their ability to house water as well as be a sign of life. Ironically, the desert region's main export is water, one of of the only sources of water across the world save for ice that rain down from the planet's ring.
The desert is best explored aboard Wind Ships due to the harsh, burning winds. But many Orcs across the country of Bunia still choose to walk across the sands due to their nomadic culture. Save for their capital city, Djeneis, travelers of the Orchid Dunes can find a town completely deserted at one time of the year, and the next, it's buzzing with life. Many villages and towns are built across the desert to be havens for wandering Orcs, but the larger Oasis Cities rarely true bastions for Orckind. The Orcs are also exceptional huters; every Orc, almost since birth, is trained in the art of crossbowship. In fact, every Orc upon reaching adulthood is expected to serve at least three years in the military, where they'll become very intimate with the crossbow.
The Bunia flag represents their desert home, the purple, the Orcs, the gold, and finally, the black sun that beats down on Minerva, the planet in which these creatures are forced to survive upon. And their leader, the acting Orc Lord, is Augus Xufton, who is now an acquaintance of the Dwarf Queen.
