Meet a new character for the same setting that Wannabun is in! This is Dr. Dyad, real name Dr. Beatrice Best.

Initially "merely" a brilliant mouse chemist, she became increasingly obsessed with the occult in general and the mystical potential of various substances and forces. Traveling the world, she sought out rare alchemical and mystical knowledge, before stumbling upon the dimension from which all magic springs on her own. She grasped the basics of magic, but went too far in searching out new power sources, unwisely tapping into the energy of a trapped malevolent cat deity. This began to corrupt her and to transform her body, but she's able to contain it. Now she's able to cast more powerful spells on her own merit, most involving transmutation or the use of force, yet she must be careful in using her magical power, for good, lest she turn fully into a cat and become a thrall. As you can imagine, she's perpetually grumpy, and perhaps secretly worried that her cat half is more attractive anyway, despite her insistence that she has bigger things to worry about.
