is there any special mechanics to it or is it for the most part stock?

Its rated a 1 1/4 ton truck radio comutication truck instead of a regular one ton.

It has tow hooks pental hitches hook ups inside the bed walls and floor for a radio shack.It has a 24 volt starting system and 24 volt radio hookups and dubble 105 amp alternators.

It has black out lights for running at night with night vission goggles.

It it has realy low gears with lockers front and rear so it tops off at 60mph at 3200 rpms.

Its a 1986. Most of them and alot of Fords and Dodges that are being sold off by the military are now all about the same year in the 1985 and 1986 year range.

Gota love the old military vehicles. It's funny how people stare and even funnier when they ask. "Are you in the army or something?" Uh....No I have a beard, I'm fat, and wearing regular clothing...."Oh uh, okay'' Then the questions start flying in, but I don't mind answering peoples questions. I made a kids day a couple of days ago. He thought my M1009 was so cool when he was checking it out, I asked his dad if he and his son would like to go for a little off roading near by. Both of them had a blast but that kid had a smile from ear to ear the whole time. It was great.
