April 28th, 1977: Charlie the Tuna is apprehended by law enforcement on charges including embezzlement, tax evasion, re-labeling cans of expired tuna, and one count of transporting a protected species across state lines. His attempt to destroy evidence was unsuccessful, and thanks to the cans and several years of accounting books discovered inside the dolphin, he was later convicted.
