OLD SHIT - Watership Down 2020 7/10
I was looking through my old work again, this time from 2020, and I felt the need to share the visual development art I'd made based off of Watership Down during that year. I've long since shared the final renders of the characters I designed during that time, but I haven't shown the other small heap of stuff I'd completed. So? Here it be.
Blackberry is a funny character, like "ha-ha" funny imo, though not because of his personality. He has a good sense of humor, sure, but he's not nearly as clownish or playful as, say, Bluebell. But I just can't ever move past how funny it is that this rabbit is a nerd, a mechanical genius amongst his own kind. Ergo, silly curly ears. Hypothetically I'd want to see him animated in a vaguely foppish, thoughtful way, like a lop-eared philosopher.
