The Pale tell of a story about the man who befriended the star. How one day, one of the mythical Solarin descended from the stars and told him the many tales of life beyond Bedalia, and the lessons that she has come to pass on. As the story goes on, there comes the gift of the star, marking this man as unique as well as powerful, and it was the kindness shared that earned his friendship with the Solarin.
But the Pale deify the Solarin, and do not comprehend the friendship that was between the man and the star.
They do not know that Rastidan was a boy, barely a child, tending to fields late at night when Lan came. Their friendship began as a curiosity towards one another, following with childish antics and adventures, exploring the farm and the plains beyond it. Few know how the pair grew up together, the boy to a man, and the immortal being to a mature entity. Just as few know that the gift of the star was a mistake that occurred late in life. But such is to be expected from the Pale who immortalized Rastidan for his mere association to a Solarin, rather than the impact their friendship had towards one another's lives.
I may or may not have revisited some old shit in my worldbuilding notes, and forgot about this small gem of background stuff that makes not a damn bit of impact on the main story XD Its just a weird tale to tell. Too bad drawing Solarin is a bitch and a half. Still figuring out how to go about drawing them when their main gimmick is that they're immortal beings of pure energy with the nickname star-born. Poor Lan was done dirty by me Dx
