This "Action-Comic-Cover" styled artwork shows my main heroes charging into an army of Undead.
Though the composition of characters is pretty similar to my artwork "Triple Force" (2019) I still love how it turned out.
Also... Reptile doesn't look so silly up front after all.
^^
Enjoy!

Hehehe, yeah I think that would fit!! XD
The scales are drawn in three steps:
1. Olive green COPIC marker
2. White pencil
3. White acrylic colour and brush (on top)
The brush provides the brightest highlight layer!
Here's an older tutorial by me:

I'm not really using the pens mentioned in the tutorial anymore... but the approach is the same.

Ooooh nice, that's really helpful, I've been using coloured pencils lately but mainly to put shade on the eye sockets and utilizing it for light points on a subject, I've also been using a cheap white gel pen for light points too, like the shine in someones eye's and for edge highlights.
I've used these in my two latest drawings

The gel pen is a first step in the right direction... but the cheap ones usually look horrible. I can either suggest to get a better one OR to use brush and acrylics. You can get a bottle of "skull white" (for example) very easily and cheaply. ^^
Also, you have more control and options when using a brush.

Gosh... now you mention it... I did draw that kind of pose back in 1999:

I can tell you have a lot of fun with it. I've also been watching your posts on this one for the last couple months, bit by bit seeing the piece form from sketch to this final product. It looked great even as a sketch. Even better now that it's in color, of course. It's such a dynamic piece and I thank you for sharing your process with us. :)
Yay, another epic artwork from you. And as always, it looks really bad ass.
And it was really cool to see each step and I remember you mentioned that Reptile's head looked strange and that you drew him in that perspective only 2 or 3 times. And I kinda remember you did it in your comic book "Circle of Doom". You drew him like that when he has been captured against his will by the Xevon's command (if I recall it correctly).
Anyway, he looks really cute like that and I want to pat him really bad xD
You should draw him up front more often!
