Berath concept (side) for Dracten, a HL2 Mod.
A tough one, as I really struggle with guns and technology, but it is something I am working at.
Still working at a front-on pose and an action shot.

Hmm...It looks pretty good. Also very detailed like I like some pictures to be, sometimes however simplicity makes it just as fine.
The only error I can point out, and I hope ye don't get mad fer it as I always try ta do constructive critiques, are the chains holding up his loincloth. Two o' them aren't locked together and it would make the dwaggy go naked soon. Not that I would complain, though. :3
Besides that, good job with the proportions and everything else.

No I dont mind critiques, at all. In fact I always encourage them, not enough people here give proper constructive critique ^_^
Though I would like to point you to look at other art I've done that involves beads, jewellery, and such. I conciously do not link bands of jewellry in this way. I dont normally flail the 'its my style flag' but here it is very much a style thing I do, which started many many years ago as part inspiration from works by yoshitaka amano and aubrey beardley. If it was a peiece in wch I was trying todo a proper chain for binding or restraining I would make it properly link to fit. ^^
I hope that makes some sort of sense, I am pretty poor at explaining things XD

I find looking at real life guns helps a lot to develop your ideas. Another thing, especially when it comes to techno or future type weapons, it's the little details and styles that make it look workable.
Look at your basic idea of the weapon. Think of the kind of people (of whatever species) made this weapon. Is it intended as a brutal, cheap yet practical weapon without any silly frills? Then you want to make it bulky, straight corners and lines, the barest of comfortable grips and stocks and big clunky switches. A more elegant weapon on the other hand would tend to be more stylish - sweeping curves and and tiny little buttons and switches.
I was also going to explain adding various details and indents onto weapons, but my time is a little tight at the moment. I'll instead demonstrate it with some sketches later - it would be much easier to show you. I'll note you when I get it done.

ok, maybe this has been addressed already, but...
would you be actually playing as the dino in the mod? I really dont know much about hl2 modding outside of Gary's Mod.
All i know is that it would be friggin sweet being able to run in front of a mirror object and see a dino holding a gun. Id end up with a horrible k-d ratio from being distracted the entire time

Schp* I dunno what I was going to say, maybe just some random "shait"...
Damn, it's really hard to say anything unique after such a flood of previous comments. Guess I just have to be boring and yet again praise how damn sexy your dragons are.
In this one especially the head and expression is nicely draconic. Also the legs/feet stand out. He gets close to Azriel's level in sezzyness ^..^
*fantasizes about Azriel and Berath together, doing some "candle waxing"* Ahem...

I had no idea you were a part of this project as well. I was one of the writer's at one point, but a lot of good that did me. Tal brought me on and then told me that nothing that I wrote matched his vision. Wound up parting ways with him a few years later. It's a real shame, too. Dracten really did hold a lot of premise. And these days, with wider audiences being more open to the idea of anthropomorphic cinema thanks to Zootopia, it would shine as an indie game. Ah well...
