Well, this is different isn't it?

Recently I've come to understand myself as a transgender woman. Those who follow me on social media may have already seen my coming out post. Suffice to say there have been signs that this has been the case for a long time, and I've struggled on and off for years to come to this conclusion. For the first time in a long time, I feel some hope and happiness. This is going to be difficult at times, but I see a light at the end of the dark tunnel I've lived in for so long, and a path towards actually liking myself as a person.

Sky did a wonderful thing yesterday in agreeing to take this sketch commission despite it not really being in-line with her usual Walk-in Wednesday stuff. Watching Ambrosia come to life before my eyes brought me to tears. I cried the whole time she was drawn, and for a good half hour afterwards. I'm honestly still tearing up a little bit when I see this piece because it is just so wonderful and affirming, and getting to put 'myself' out there as my avatar on social media and in my online spaces feels incredible. From the absolute bottom of my heart, Sky, I thank you.
