and I finally have a visual representation to share of Alue, the unicorn god of Hometia.
And you can also see where the visual inspiration for Alue's temple comes from: Aztec pyramids. Being of Aztec decent myself, I've wanted to find a way to showcase my affinity for their culture. Seems Homtia's religion was the ideal place.
I realize now that the priest standing in the corner does not have the traditional Aztec priest attire. for now I think its fine, perhaps in another story their costume may be fixed to match the temple more.
I do want to stress that, no, they are not worshiping the tapestry. the tapestry would be similar to how we hang crosses in churches behind the pulpit. just a visual icon to remember Christ and his sacrifice.
The tapestry idea was hugely influenced by the Tapestry of Martin the Warrior from the Redwall series. so happy to share my influences with you, haha!
