Well, I got your daily uploads once again of course, might be a bit online longer than usual today, and now if you care? It's time for a bit of story time with Hensley.
I've already talked about how Ultrinians were heavily inspired off of Giegue's Species. That a lot of my work does have some Mother inspiration. I'm a bit of a nostalgia freak, Mother 1 was impressively one of the first RPGs I have ever played alongside Final Fantasy 3 on DS. However I say that more like... Traditional RPGs? As I played a lot of Fire Emblem also as a kid on the GBA of sacred stones and of course, seven. Mother 1 was the translation, and... I managed to get my hands on it when I was much younger. I played it from start and to finish. I did not touch Earthbound or even Mother 3 until much later and in fact did complete them in order. When I played smash brothers, I seriously thought that Ninten and Ness were the same character. (Although at the same time, I was wondering where Hector and Eliwood was from Fire Emblem and had no idea who Marth was.)
Mother 1 kind of has that special place in my heart. As I remember coming home from school and getting on a crappy telephone as I would talk to one of my only friends I had in my real life at the time. That I would discuss him of what's going on in the game and how cool it was. He's also the same person who got me the game in the first place and a few others he downloaded, such as Cave Story. Sometimes I wonder what happened to him as he did move away. Phone calls stopped and I remember I completed the end of the game without him there. I guess for some reason, that moment stuck with me through my entire life. Kind of a strange golden moment that never really left me.
I never did get to talk to him again really after that. Don't even know where he fully went after he moved. All I can do right now I guess is hope for the best. Who knows, maybe one day I'll meet him once again. However, I have my doubts.
Giegue is probably my favorite antagonist of all time. I don't know if there's much more I need to say on that. Even looking back on Mother 1 and attempting to replay it on my switch... I feel like the game is honestly a lot more rough than I remember it. However I do wish to complete it in full once again. I wanted to draw him with a more strange and alien look to him. Basing it off the spritework and the flipped sprite of Giygas in Earthbound.
I think that's all I have to say, have a good day everyone.
To anyone who actually read this all the way through and heard some personal stuff about my life? Thank you. I appreciate that.
