Prologue
(A bit of writing from Dover himself)My father once told me, when I was a young boy, that the world is filled with many a great possibility.
Since then, I had dreams brimming with determination that I would eventually set foot on the land beyond my home town and into the outside world when appropriate time comes. But as a child back then, I was too young to do so.
I haven’t been able to venture away from home until I turned 15 years old, traveling with my parents to distant towns and villages of Scotland, Ireland, and Wales to buy or trade items with other people. Then at age 20, I was able to go out to these places on my own without either my father or my foreign mother from a distant, unfamiliar continent I never knew much of.
I’ve been wanting to become part of a clan of Celtic warriors for what seemed like forever. And when I’ve turned 29, I was finally ready to join the army.
During all my time at the clan's settlement, I’ve been training and practicing on several things from close-range combat to stealth and archery (the only thing I’m familiar with is horseback since I was 15). I even practiced my fencing skills with a cane-sword my father gave me that was my favourite prop ever since.
Here I am now, as a middle-aged man, reminiscing about my childhood days in which I pretended to be a warrior, battling imaginary enemies with a wooden sword. Now my fleeting dreams of becoming a warrior finally came true, and I was quite serious about it. No more pretend play for me; it’s time for me to move on to warfare...
And change my history for good.
