- Mad World (Fox Amoore feat Colson) -
Mine and
colson's rendition of "Mad World". We both love this song so we decided to make it our next collaboration. I performed the Piano, Cello and the non-vocal instruments, Colson performed all the vocals (He has an album coming out too btw, be sure to check it out!)

I recently use the original song for a school assignment, I listened to it a million times editing the video but I was surprised that I did't get tired of it. On the other hand this version is a great rendition of the original and it brings a fresh element that makes me want to keep listening to it over and over. Great job, both of you.
I really enjoy listening to the collaborations you two pull off. Many times before have I listened to these songs just for relaxation and daydreaming purposes ^__^ Not to mention, it inspires me to do some singing of my own. I should just try and record something soon : )

Ehh... I hate to be the spoilsport, but I was a tad disappointed. Perhaps I placed my expectations too high on elocution and annunciation, but a few words such as places and faces seriously bothered me. I know they're difficult but if a kid in braces can work through that then I know it could have been executed better. There were also a few added things that are definitely yours stylistically, but I thought the song should have been kept as simple as possible. Minimalistic music, if you will. But in the end, these are the opinions that don't particularly matter.
Overall, I think this was an excellent piece, but not your best work, in my opinion. I've heard better things from the both of you. But like I said, just an opinion, and if the other comments are anything to judge by, many people will disagree with me, but I felt I should put this out there.

I just want to touch on this song because it screams to my mind what all of us face nowadays compared to forty years ago. This truly is a mad world with fear mixed in with anger at the realities of letting people with lots of money take charge of the world.
I'd have to say the vocals used fit this song to a tea if not eerily powerful to the fact everybody in their own little way is going mad or depressed from going mad the last few years.
If this seems crazy let me know because that's what I pick up from this song.

Oh Fox...
This is so beautiful.
I remember when I asked you to do this on SheezyArt.
This is absolutely outstanding work. I really like it when Colson sings
slower songs so I can appreciate his voice; those faster songs just
overwhelm me sometimes. My favourite part about this song is when
you play the 'mad world' part; the song gets all echoey and beautiful.
It's just... Perfect. You don't overdo it. GAH, so lovely. You also
added some of your own playing which is always what I look forward
to hearing in your covers.
My only complaint is that some of the lyrics weren't right. It sounds
like Colson listened to the sang and then sang it, which makes his
rendition close, but not to the letter.
Thank you so much for sharing this!

Being honest, it's really my fault that one or two of the words weren't exact, I didn't give him a large time window to complete it, as I had other impending projects to get through as well. It's not bothered me though, since it sets it apart more from Gary's version.

All the pieces of this (vocals, music, art) are very nice. It's still soft but the way it goes up and down is much more intriguing than the original which becomes a bit flat in my opinion. They did a dance to this in "So You Think You Can Dance" that accented this piece quite well... great job everyone on this one.
I'm curious on a musical level--did you perform the piano parts on an electronic keyboard or a grand/upright? Were you using sustain pedal, or just reverb? It sounds like it has a good sizable reverb, but the chords seem to cut off just slightly too soon, like the pedal wasn't used. I was just curiousl.
Fox. I just want you to know that all of your music is amazing. Their will never be a piece you'ce created that I either hate, or have a single shred of dislike for. I can't. Your music just... awe's me evertime I listen to it. I look forward to every composition and to every new upload. I've listened to almost all of your song's in your gallery *still working on it* and my respect for you just grows each time. I hope one day to hear a piece written by you for a picture I've done, but I'm content to listen to your music for now. To the day I finally have the money, the courage, and the ability to draw, good luck. And keep composing.
My heart breaks everytime I listne to your piano play... *sighs dreamily* It's so beautiful. Colson did a very good job in singing in this piece. Maybe a bit slightly slurred around his words, but very beautifuly done.
I look forward to your next piece.
wow, fox ammore and colson, you two together make the most beautiful music ive ever heard. I was listening to this in study hall and it almost made me start crying, i even had some of my nonfur friends listen to it and they thought it was just beautiful as well. Just keep up the good work, i loved it.
God damn it you two, you're so insanely good at this. Fox, I love hearing you play the piano, you're wonderful <3 I admire you so much for it. Colson you're just bloody brilliant at singing everything and your voice really is so emotional to listen to. This and the cover you did with Fox of Hallelujah are so beautiful.
I wondered whether I could sing this, I think I could :3 But you beat me to it..... ffffff.
Awesome work ^_^ <3!!! Please both of you have my children. Like, right now.

Ya know...I think this is actually the better of the two I've heard. (Original and your remake)
The singer makes it sound like a younger child is singing it (no offense intended) and thus gives the singer/storyteller a sort of innocent frame of mind. And this song sort of fits that sort of innocence. I dunno, it's just beautiful in that sort of unwritten storytelling element.
Wonderful job Fox, you just keep astounding me.

Such a marvelous colab between two great sounding musician and singer.
I just love that song.
I also thought that more members would be looking at this?
It sounds beautiful and has a strong connection with the anthro picture. But I suppose not everyone thinks the way others do?

The best cover I've ever heard. Should be a part of Gears Movie someday.
Songs like this, tend to suffer reverb overdose. Somehow, you managed to keep it at bay, in exchange for less 'room' feeling. or maybe it's just my laptop speaker. I'll route this through more reverb to see if I'm wrong.
Have you tried using harmonic exciters at low-mid parts of the piano? it sounds more dynamic than EQ or multiband compressors but don't use it too much :P

Jeez, baffled at myself for not faving this before now. This is one of several cases where I prefer your version to the original. It's such a powerful and emotional song, and you guys did it amazingly in my view. It's hard for me not to be driven to tears each time I give it a listen. There are days when I'm down in such a way that this song is the only thing that really adequately captures the feelings. Fortunately not too often, but when you have those days it's good to have something that echoes and expresses the feelings. Beautiful work. :)
