Probably one of my old all time favorite songs when I was younger (It was such a nostalgic experience doing this again, if you've ever watched Watership Down.) This is a slightly different version, subtle changes in the structure to allow some effects to push through on the vocals (like some minim cross delay). There's two vocal tracks, an upper and lower, so hat off too Merina for doing quite a big range. Foxcall added a mandolin and a violin for backing as well, which was a joy to work with!Featured Vocalist:

My father bought the book and the 3 DVD's for it, intending on having my niece watch it for her 7th Birthday. We put it in a couple days later and was very glad we did not go through with the plan. It is not a cartoon for Children.
Until I watched that movie, I had no idea of the true nature of that song. Now, every time I hear it it just brings me to tears. Yours did the very same thing.
Is it a kind of dream
Floating out on the tide
Following the river of death downstream
Oh, is it a dream?
There's a fog along the horizon
A strange glow in the sky
And nobody seems to know where you go
And what does it mean?
Oh, is it a dream?
Bright eyes
Burning like fire
Bright eyes
How can you close and fail?
How can the light that burned so brightly
Suddenly burn so pale?
Bright eyes
Is it a kind of shadow
Reaching into the night
Wandering over the hills unseen
Or is it a dream?
There's a high wind in the trees
A cold sound in the air
And nobody ever knows when you go
And where do you start
Oh, into the dark
Bright eyes
Burning like fire
Bright eyes
How can you close and fail?
How can the light that burned so brightly
Suddenly burn so pale?
Bright eyes
Bright eyes
Burning like fire
Bright eyes
How can you close and fail?
How can the light that burned so brightly
Suddenly burn so pale?
Bright eyes
And yes, you cant really listen to this song without tearing up... if you don't, you aren't listening... But as Fox himself always says, 'Don't just listen... Feel.' Can't say it any better myself =^.^=
Beautiful.
BTW, one of your best yet.
Watership Down was one my favorite movies as a child, and one of the stories that inspired my love of all things furry. Your version is definitely different, but beautiful and sweet nonetheless.
I am sitting here in shock and awe as I listen to this. Thank you, my friend, for bringing on some sweet nostalgia.
Now I have 4 versions to choose from. The Watership Down version, The Art Garfunkel version from his "Scissors Cut" LP, his live version and now this one. >"^_^"<
Excellent work to you all!
I love this song. You've made me want to sing it now :)! I used to watch the movie when I was that young, very graphic and adult but I liked it and it was a moving story.
Really beautiful cover, I love the strings. I think some parts of her vocals are lost a little when all the instrumental parts are at their loudest, at least on my speakers. Maybe the vocal track could do with a slight volume increase as she has a delicate singing style, but that might just be me who thinks this.
Very beautiful and chilling rendition of such a well known piece of music. Thanks for the memories! XD
It amazes me as an artist to see how many other art forms out there can still impress, music is definately up there. <3
I thought until now I'd never heard the song, but it occurs to me that the tune is vaguely familiar...I think I heard it only as an instrumental way back in my distant past.
It's a beautiful rendition, and the vocalist is very fitting.
P.S. On a side note, weren't you going to post the percussion-only version of that Sholan tribal dance piece?
Not only that, it just gave me a HUGE inspirational boost!!
Never heard the original, so I can't compare to, but very nicely done! love it
*faved!*

Violin work was superb, very nicely well done!
And of course, vocal work and range was very sweet to listen to!
All three of you are greatly talented musicians and work superbly together!!
A beautiful work
:3
I will NEVER be able to understand strings, my fingers just don't do that! X3
All of your workings together were truly beautiful, I hope to see more in the future!
Amazing work!
I could only wish to work with such talented musicians such as yourself :3
TM
Glad you liked the vocals
Freakin love this tune. That voice is absolutely gorgeous, and your use of instruments never ceases to amaze. :3
It makes me think of peaceful and sweet moments.... PLUS it'd make an AWESOME BG music :3
It's just makes it all worth while.
Very well put together, well done.
It's hard not to get emotional thinking about Watership Down. Especially when hearing this song..
Bright Eyes...
It's one of my all-time favorites.
But I gotta say, you three OUT DID the original performance by S&G. You really did!
Fox, I gotta say, you speak the language of music as a first language, and its obvious in your compositional skill. You know what sounds good where and why. And then have the ability to put what works where it belongs, rendering it with great skill. You know how to select other great musicians and vocalists around you to do what you can not. It should be a great honor (if it isn't already) to those artists to be selected by you to do work together.
And the three of you, in particular, work very well together. It takes great professionalism to balance the way you do, in equal portions. No one performer gets a big spotlight, and the three of you share it very well, bringing your own voice to the work, and together, making a great piece!
This rendition of this song has been in my head a lot lately, and though it paints a beautiful scene, it is also a sad scene. I need to get it out of my head, so, I have now cued up a bunch of other FoxAmoore's work =^.^= As always BRAVO FOX and company! You out did the original, and for that, I am very grateful you chose to share it here!
I love that song, and you made a beautiful version of it. ♪♫
It's not such a sad story as people make out, if you really read/watch it. Everybody is happy in the end after all.
I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it in the movie and this has to be one of my favourite versions of it, and yes, I have heard quite a few.
Thank you to
