Far too much glass for an assault shuttle, in this case a school run shuttle full of seating to move students between the ground and the mothership.

I imagine such a big single piece transparent cockpit cover would be hella expensive. No matter what it's made of.

Thats a pretty cool model. Hmmm ... I might have to snag a copy from Daz and bridge it to unreal engine. Then I could actually go inside in VR and have a look around. Looks like you also have Bravo Starbase.

While I don't have the unreal engine DAZ does let me move a camera inside to look around.

(They had a sale going on on 2019-11-19 and I picked up the base, starjet, cockpit and poses all for about $10 - back when they really had sales ... )

As I've admitted, this is like playing with 3D dolls - ones you can push though walls and leave hanging in midair if you'd like. In fact the hard part is getting them not to go through things - for a bit there the one saluting had her thumb jammed into her forehead!

edit: yes i know you're limited to what the daz model store offers, and they of course wouldn't offer 'copyrighted' content like star trek.

It's been pointed out often enough that while some Star Trek TM terms are sometimes used - this isn't Star Trek TM. Which gives me room to play with other things.

And I figured that there would be a lot of different style craft used for different things, so I'm 'playing' with options (as I'm too lazy to try to make my own models that would/might make sense.)

And as well-used as this one looks, the school may be using it to help teach/train the students on older gear.

Each world / culture / shop could have its own design "sensibilities" that are noticeable by those paying attention.

And as hulls are bought/sold/upgraded/repurposed, anything could end up anywhere for whatever reason.

Not to mention people doing custom builds, based on old media imagery or even the commissioner's whims. (I never did get to writing about the festival on Grand Fenwick where people showed off anachronistic "technology" they built. Including "teleporters" and a mostly-functional Martian War Machine. You just know there's a Buck Rogers rocket ship somewhere in that.)

Well as long as they keep a heavy reliance on energy shields and energy weapons that will work.

Must be energy shields or something as that thing sure isn't sporting any heat tiles for reentry!

Ah, Neal paying for the running of a 'space school' was never part of the plot until now, so no, this one didn't need to be pink ...

Sadly I don't recall the story, but the way things are going right now in some parts of the world I won't be at all surprised if the one wearing pink hot-pants was in fact a 'he' ...

I've had my own interplanetary/short range interstellar cargolifter similar to this flying around in my head for decades that is very similar to this.
Mine feels a lot wider and the cargo bay is a little taller. The wings, engines, and cockpit are all significantly higher on mine.

This one is more short haul for a ship that doesn't set down on planets.
