In fact, both arms were twisted. Time had been a little more kind toward this piece. I did if for Mike Glyer's zine at the time... I think this was before File 770, and must have been Scientifriction (deliberate misspelling). Mike asked me to do a spoof piece about the future of SF fandom, I think, and this was what I came up with. In the *Future* fan artists would actually contribute to animated fanzines! Strangely enough, that is sort of what happened. But it was easier for programmers to be artists, I think, than it was for artists become computer programmers. So there never was animated fan art. Both the black and the white inks on my piece faded over time, and I had to do some tweaking, but the results are just about perfect. The only real difference between the Photoshop version and the real art is that I didn't think it worthwhile to repaint all the fine print, so I left it greyish. It will probably fool anyone into thinking I did it on purpose.
