Tara is one of Max's childhood friends. She's really good technician and loves to fix machines. She's had a pretty tragic story but does her best to keep in the best mood. She was raised by her grand father in Max's village when her parents went missing.
At about 8 years old children were taken from their families to be sent to the factories as apart of the rebuilding efforts. Their reasoning being that if the parents are defending the nation, then the children have to be raised in secure and protected facilities that Raidies could never enter. Course it wasn't all terrible from Tara's perspective because it was pretty much like a boarding school and teachers and friends were very nice. Despite that, they still make you work on very dangerous projects and one horrible accident, a large metal sheet landed on her and several other children. She had her legs crushed and she spent the time recovering and building her strength back home in her village with Max and Teddy to keep her company. She tried going back but her PTSD for loud noises set her off, so she finished her schooling outside of the factories.
Her struggle in the main story is being someone who has to "grin and bare it" when it comes to being able to work and do what you love. She has to follow the laws and arbitrary standards set upon women who want to work. She, Max and Teddy all grew up in an area where they interacted with Raidies and don't see them as aggressive or radical, like they do in the propaganda. Tara's big thing is getting "real metal" like steel or iron to work on projects. Most products that she's required to work on, now use plastics, which are strong, but she hates how they're designed to break so frequently.
I'll admit to making her a bit of a mary sue because she's similar to "Malon" from Zelda to Max. She's very much a love interest for a lot of people because people feel sorry for her and her condition, but often times she's completely able to solve the problem without other people's help. Both Max and Teddy crushed on her instantly when she came back to the village but Max let Teddy make the moves only because Max is holding out for the hand of the Princess instead.
These drawings had been sitting around for a while in my WIPs for years, and finally got around to fixing them up and colorizing them. Still feel like there are details that might need some work but making sure that I have her drawn out for reference means she's apart of the universe. She might be new to you guys, but she's been in my head from the start.
