With bright knives he releaseth my soul... He converteth me into panther cutlets...
...and we're back after a hiatus while Merlin heals up following jaw surgery. A-SMV gets even more lurid about the whole "They'll kill us all!" conspiracy theory.
Fun fact: an Arriflex 16SR took about 350 man-hours of work to build and test each complete camera, I figure an artificial life form would merit similar attention to detail.

He does make a good point. While on an individual level, someone watching a horror movie wouldn't have the same level of emotion as being involved in the real thing, 50-100 people experiencing the same thing would certainly work just as well, especially if they only need general proximity for it.
Though it does sound amusing then that for succubus/incubus, "dinner and a movie" is at the same time rather than sequential.

This might be a bit off topic, but ugh... is the outside World where this comic takes place something like Midgar from "Final Fantasy VII" by any chance(city atmosphere wise that is)? An industrialized Dystopian fantasy of Furrae, where the future sits on a knife's edge? And also, I don't know if you are familiar with Alternate Universes. But Niall could make for a fitting Sephiroth clone for this World, albeit under certain circumstances were to fall into place.
Never played any of the FF games, but DMFA's author might have. Between DMFA and the Project Future webcomics this short story is building on over 30 man-years worth of backstory so it's a bit difficult to summarise.
In present-day DMFA there is a power struggle and an existential threat to some races. There is a prevalent attitude of 'might makes right' where the more powerful races stomp on the weaker ones, but know that if they make too much noise the even more powerful races might notice and crush them before they become a threat. The recent emergence of technology threatens to upset things since it may give the bottom rung races a leg-up, and the powers-that-be are terrified of new races appearing that might had the potential to dethrone them. In TV Tropes DMFA is listed as an example of a 'crapsaccharine world'.
My Project Future stories are set over a century later where this attitude has been forced to shift at gunpoint (and by removing the top-tier race). Things are a lot better, but not perfect. A powerful organisation with a lot of teeth is monitoring the situation to try and ensure that things don't backslide into dystopia again. But they're also twitchy about new lifeforms upsetting the applecart and so the main cast had to jump through a lot of hoops to get their (stolen) robo-panther technology and androids approved. As we see on page 5 ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/44183653 ) they're worried that if there's an innate problem with the panthers they'll get their license pulled or something.
As for panel 4, one of the neat things an incubus or succubus can do is shapeshift their wings. Niall does this later in page 15 when scooping the panther up, but they can also be weaponised by sharpening an extruded tentacle into a point, or looping it around someone's neck and decapitating them. However A-SMV is overreacting here because the armour is proof against wing-tentacle attacks as well.
