A few of my friends have requested that I post some music here. I’ve been playing around with a recording set-up over the holidays and finally feel confident in my ability to produce something that doesn’t sound as if it were recorded in a garbage can with a toy microphone.
I’ve got something ambitious planned with multiple instrument tracks that I have been working on for a few days. But today I took a break from that and recorded an easy, fun song with just me and one of my ukuleles. I hope you enjoy my version of Joni Mitchell’s “Big Yellow Taxi”.
Technical details:
Left channel: Luna High Tide koa tenor acoustic/electric ukulele (low-G tuning) thru a Fishman Pro EQ Platinum.
Right channel: Bear singing thru a Sennheiser e835 microphone (no effects).
Recorder: Zoom H4n digital recorder.

Thanks for the link to ukulele-tabs.com. That E-chord is a killer for me. If you transpose it up a step-and-a-half, you get the chords that I use: GCD instead of EAB. I agree on your other comments regarding the song. It's simple to play, easy to remember, and most people will recognize it. I made two slight changes to Joni's original lyrics. I changed the entry fee to the Tree Museum from a dollar-and-a-half to twenty bucks (inflation, you know). And the big yellow taxi takes away my woman rather than my old man.
