(For those who don't know: https://www.kzmaster.club/?p=233)
NOTE: For the far-right design I plan on switching the mask to this - https://www.etsy.com/listing/824446.....erk-menpo-mask , I just didn't want to draw it. lol
I'm looking to create a platform under the premise of competitive/performance street-dance and breakdancing. I pondered on whether to make a sona' to represent this, but ultimately King the Kreator would serve best.
Here's the thing: To me, dancing is all about expressiveness and performance. You excite the crowd through the aesthetics and kinetic movement with rhythm. Part of the performance is aesthetics - looks, it's a spectacle. While skill plays a large role in wowwing a crowd and holding their attention, how the performer looks also plays a factor. If this were not true, why do Dance Companies splurge cash on custom outfits and props for their performances if they could go out in dirty wrinkled clothes and bad hair?
While looks should never outright trump skill level, how does one judge someone's performance if both performers are equally or just about evenly matched? How does one determine who they liked more? It's all about the looks. If I just showed up in a standard T-shirt, Jeans, and Converse, I'd be just another dancer. But if I showed up in something people would remember, something memorable and extraordinary, people are much more inclined to observe the spectacle and remember it.
I'm not looking to 'Win' competitions, that's political and easily rigged. I've seen competitions where dancers outperform their opponent and wow the crowd only for the judges to not vote in their favor and cause them to lose for various (stupid) reasons. (Example: https://youtu.be/uRCLywpfSP8?t=113 )
So I want to use my character and platform to put on the most memorable performances and art people will enjoy for years. You can only dance and perform for so long before your body breaks down on you - I want to use the time I have not chasing 'W's, but performing and wowwing crowds.
To me, if I get the loudest crowd pop in a competition and network with the other performers, I won the whole thing. Cause now every time anyone thinks back on that event and who won it, they'll be remembering ME.
I digress.
I'm looking for a design that comes of as 'aesthetic', 'memorable', and 'cool'. Something I can wear as a fursuit partial and into competitions IRL - something I can wear to the Paris France Cyphers 2024.
What do you think would be best? Your input is very much appreciated.
